Beginning performances Tuesday, February 10, Dashiell Eaves will join the cast of the hit comedy, Becky Shaw. Mr. Eaves will play the role of Andrew. The remainder of the acclaimed cast - David Wilson Barnes, Emily Bergl, Kelly Bishop, and Annie Parisse - continue with the production. Written by Gina Gionfriddo and directed by Peter Dubois, Becky Shaw has been extended through March 15 at Second Stage Theatre. Mr. Eaves replaces Thomas Sadoski, who is leaving the production to begin rehearsals for reasons to be pretty.

Dashiell Eaves has appeared on Broadway in Coram Boy, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, James Joyce's The Dead, 1776, and The Sound of Music. Off Broadway/Regional: Not Waving, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Street Scene (Williamstown); The Seven (La Jolla); Brendan (Huntington); People Be Heard (Playwrights Horizons); Sons of Ulster...(Lincoln Center/Huntington); Hans Christian Andersen (A.C.T.); 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Barrington Stage); STOMP. Film/Television: Arthur & The Invisibles II (dir. Luc Besson); Beloved (dir. Jonathan Demme); STOMPOUTLOUD (HBO); "Law & Order: Criminal Intent;" "Third Watch."

In Becky Shaw, a newlywed couple fixes up two romantically challenged friends: wife's best friend, meet husband's sexy and strange new co-worker. When an evening calculated to bring happiness takes a dark turn, crisis and comedy ensue in this wickedly funny new play that asks what we owe the people we love and the strangers who land on our doorstep.

Charles Isherwood of The New York Times calls Becky Shaw, "Ferociously funny! A big box of fireworks fizzing and crackling across the stage from its first moments to its last! For lovers of theater this deftly plotted, scabrous and sharp-witted new play proves a bracing antidote to the dispiriting news of closings and financial anxiety both on and off Broadway. It's a kick!" Michael Kuchwara of the Associated Press calls the play, "a sharp social comedy of articulate anger...a rambunctious, theatrically volatile evening. The laughs flow freely." And Marilyn Stasio of Variety calls Becky Shaw, "a blithely cynical and devastatingly funny play. Gina Gionfriddo is some kind of genius."
