The Kleban Foundation has announced the recipients of the 29th Annual Kleban Prize for Musical Theatre. The judges declared a tie in the most promising musical theatre lyricist category between Sarah Hammond and Shaina Taub. The Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Charlie Sohne. The 2019 prizes will be presented on Monday, February 4, 2018, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI at ASCAP.

City Theatre is excited to welcome the musical theater writing team of Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond back to Pittsburgh for A Holiday Homecoming. The pair met while studying at Carnegie Mellon and the cabaret marks their City Theatre debut. Fresh off the success of their work on the Disney Channel's VAMPIRINA, the duo will host a two night only event on the theater's main stage showcasing music from their award winning works including Dani Girl and Romantics Anonymous with a few holiday favorites sprinkled in. Music directed by Nick Stamatakis, A Holiday Homecoming will run on the City Theatre Main Stage, November 30 and December 1. Tickets are on sale now.

Lijesh Krishnan directs a cast of 13, with costumes by Lisa Claybaugh, at the Theater of Others' home, the Kelly Cullen Community Auditorium, 220 Golden Gate Avenue (between Leavenworth and Hyde) in San Francisco. The Comedy of Errors runs Thursdays through Sundays, October 5-21. As with all Theater of Others' productions, admission is Pay-What-You-Will. The Civic Center BART Station is three blocks from the theater.
Joe Kinosian, the original star and co-creator of the Off-Broadway sensation Murder for Two will lead the Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) cast of the musical-comedy whodunit October 17 - November 11 at the Nancy L. In December of 2017 it was revealed that Tony Goldwyn was directing a new revival of Pal Joey, aiming to make it to Broadway in 2018. An Equity casting notice went out last week about an upcoming lab that was to be presented in November. However, according to an update at the top of the notice, the production has now been cancelled.
