NEW DRAMATISTS,Tony Honor recipient and the nation's premiere playwright development workshop, proudly announces that they will honor five-time Tony Award winning director/choreographer Susan Stroman with their 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award at its 65th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute, to be held Thursday, May 22 at the New York Marriott Marquis. Among the Stroman collaborators offering tributes will be Tony Award winner Boyd Gaines and New York City Ballet's Tiler Peck performing a selection from Little Dancer, Taylor Mac performing a selection from The Last Two People on Earth, Tony nominee Marin Mazzie performing from Bullets Over Broadway; and Contact collaborator John Weidman, and cast members from The Scottsboro Boys.The event co-chairs are Letty Aronson, Roy Furman, and Julian Schlossberg.

Liza Minnelli first met Alan Cumming back in 1998. Cumming as performed both on and off-Broadway. His most recent performance was as in Broadway's Alan Cumming's Macbeth in 2013. He has also appeared in The Threepenny Opera, The Seagull, Macbeth, and Cabaret. This year, Cumming gets to return to Broadway in a new revival of Cabaret as the Emcee. Minnelli told Vanity Fair about the first time she met Cumming and her excitement for Cabaret to return to the stage.

For DIRECTOR'S CHOICE, the fourth program of Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2013-2014 season, Artistic Director Peter Boal selects from his roster of acquisitions and increases them by one: The captivating mixed-bill program will feature a much-anticipated world premiere by Alejandro Cerrudo, resident choreographer of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. The program also reprises audience favorites TAKE FIVE...More or Less, Broadway-darling Susan Stroman's sunny slice of jazz-infused Dave Brubeck fun; and Susan Marshall's distinctive aerial duet, Kiss. Rounding out the lineup is Molissa Fenley's State of Darkness, a tour-de-force solo performance set to Stravinsky's riot-inducing The Rite of Spring. DIRECTOR'S CHOICE runs for seven performances only, today, March 14 through 23 at Seattle Center's Marion Oliver McCaw Hall.

Wells Fargo Center for the Arts and the Santa Rosa Symphony celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Symphony Pops Series. Led by Principal Pops Conductor Michael Berkowitz, the 10th anniversary season will be comprised of four Sunday afternoon performances featuring a star-studded collection of music with tributes to Marvin Hamlisch, Barbra Streisand, ABBA, John Williams, and songs of holiday cheer at the Ruth Finley Person Theater at Wells Fargo Center for the Arts (50 Mark West Springs Road, Santa Rosa). Season ticket packages ($109 - $255), which include all four concerts and pre-concert talks, are available now. Single tickets ($32 - $80) go on sale August 22. Tony and Oscar winning Broadway, film and TV star Liza Minnelli has appeared on Broadway in Flora, The Red Menace -- for which she won the 1965 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical -- Liza, Chicago, The Act (another Tony win in 1978), The Rink, Victor / Victoria, Minnelli on Minnelli and Liza's at the Palace. She also received a special Tony Award in 1978 She has appeared as herself on TV in Smash, The Voice UK, So You Think You Can Dance, The Apprentice and more, and she is also known for her portrayal of Lucille Austero in the now-Netflix-based comedy series Arrested Development.
