Theatre Hopkins is currently presenting Lisa Kron's 'Well,' at the Swirnow Theater in the Mattin Arts Center on the Johns Hopkins University's Homewood campus, Actress and playwright Lisa Kron was nominated for a Tony Award for her work in this innovative comedy. Kron has penned an autobiographical comedy in a theatrical style suggesting Thornton Wilder.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) is proud to announce the full cast for the upcoming New York premiere of Distracted, by Lisa Loomer, directed by Mark Brokaw. The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis, Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson) has announced the 10 members of the 2009 Emerging Writers Group, the second season of an annual program that targets playwrights at the earliest stages of their careers and nurtures their artistic growth by providing necessary resources and support. The 10 writers were selected from more than 400 applicants. The 2009 Emerging Writers are J. Julian Christopher, D.S.A. Deen, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Bridget Kelso, Mona Mansour, Vickie Ramirez, Jordan Seavey, Alena Smith, Kevin Christopher Snipes, and Lauren Yee.

'Lisa', the onstage playwright, attempts a memory play about her force-of-nature mother who though constantly ill manages to heal a community. Characters rebel at Lisa?s version of events, upending the story in a howlingly funny and emotionally powerful look at mother/daughter dynamics. This Tony-nominated Broadway sensation comes from the original voice of Lisa Kron, whose OBIE-winning 2.5 Minute Ride was a sold-out hit in last season's PRC2 series.
