To commemorate the 100-year anniverary of August Strindberg's death Scandinavian American Theater Company has commissioned a diverse group of the most exciting American and Scandinavian dramatists to write short 15-20 minute plays in response to Strindberg's iconic 'Miss Julie'.

In the season's first installment of the SATC Contemporary Scandinavian Reading Series, Scandinavian American Theater Company (SATC) presents 'DESIRE' (original title BEGÄR) by RICHARD HOBERT*.

The Drilling Company will present 'The Comedy of Errors' directed by Kathy Curtiss July 7 to July 23 as the opening show of the 20th season of Shakespeare in the Park(ing) Lot, a summer New York institution performed free in a municipal parking lot at the corner of Ludlow and Broome Streets in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

Christoffer Berdal, one of Denmark's most sought-after directors, is making his American debut with 'Home Sweet Home,' a psychological drama by Andreas Garfield, which will be presented by Scandinavian American Theater Company (www.satcnyc.org) from November 11 to 28 at the 9th Space at PS122, 150 First Ave.

The toll on Scandinavian soldiers from peacekeeping--and the agony of popular indifference to their sacrifice--will be profound for American audiences to witness in 'Home Sweet Home,' an award-winning psychological drama by Danish playwright Andreas Garfield. The play was prominently recognized in Denmark's equivalent of the Tony Awards in 2007 and will be presented for its English Language and American premieres by Scandinavian American Theater Company (SATC) November 11 to 28 in the 9th Space at PS122. SATC is an emerging professional theater company that will be offering New York audiences daring and innovative works from Scandinavia's burgeoning theater scene. This one will be staged by Christoffer Berdal, who is currently one of Denmark's most sought-after directors.

The Flea Theater will present a revival of Peter Handke's Offending the Audience. It will be directed by Jim Simpson featuring a cast of 22 members of The Bats, the resident acting ensemble at The Flea. Performances begin January 21 with opening night scheduled for Thursday, January 31 at 9PM.
