Spike TV's 'Blue Mountain State' returns to the gridiron with two new cast members when the network's scripted comedy series begins production on its second season of 13 episodes this week in Montreal. In the Lionsgate feature, a young man (Lautner) discovers that he was kidnapped as a child and sets out to find his birth parents. Chaos and danger ensue. Weaver will play the psychiatrist of Lautner's character.
'Dream On,' a teen musical dance film, is set to begin production later this year through Mandate Pictures. The film will center on a teenage gymnast who aims for Olympic gold but is thwarted by an injury. In downtown Atlanta, GA, she then discovers a passion for hip-hop dance.

Filming had been scheduled to begin in June. No reason has been given for the sudden withdraw. Cindi Berger, a rep for Carey merely stated that she is 'not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time.' For many, this move fuels rumors that Carey may be pregnant, however, the songbird has been mum on the subject. No replacement possibilities for Carey have been announced.

Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, and SCG Power Rangers LLC, an affiliate of Saban Brands, have partnered to make Nick the U.S. television platform for Power Rangers, the long-running kids' TV phenomenon now heading into its 18th television season. The partnership marks the return of the global franchise to its original developer, Haim Saban, who developed and produced the original 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' series in 1993. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
