Everyman Theatre's Baltimore will close the 09/10 season with the premiere of Blackbird, Examines the Boundaries of Love, May 12 through June 13. Blackbird, a haunting, powerful drama that has left London and New York audiences breathless. The Baltimore premiere directed by Derek Goldman will star Everyman Resident Company member Megan Anderson and David Parkes in his Everyman debut. Weekend movie box office Update: June 4 - June 7

Spike TV's 'Blue Mountain State' returns to the gridiron with two new cast members when the network's scripted comedy series begins production on its second season of 13 episodes this week in Montreal. 'Blue Mountain State' is produced by Varsity Pictures' Brian Robbins ('Varsity Blues,' 'Smallville,' 'One Tree Hill') and Sharla Sumpter Bridgett and Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF).

Culture Project (CP) has announced that 'Blueprint for Accountability,' a groundbreaking theater/film/journalism series launched at The Times Center in May 2009, will return for an encore presentation on June 7th at 7:30PM at NYU Skirball Center.

Sigourney Weaver will star alongside Twilight's Taylor Lautner and RED's Alfred Molina in the upcoming film 'Abduction,' Variety reports today. In the Lionsgate feature, a young man (Lautner) discovers that he was kidnapped as a child and sets out to find his birth parents. Chaos and danger ensue. Weaver will play the psychiatrist of Lautner's character.

'Dream On,' a teen musical dance film, is set to begin production later this year through Mandate Pictures. The film will center on a teenage gymnast who aims for Olympic gold but is thwarted by an injury. In downtown Atlanta, GA, she then discovers a passion for hip-hop dance.

BET Networks has acquired Debmar-Mercury's THE WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW for a second season in the U.S. this fall and has agreed to air the popular talk show on its international networks in the United Kingdom, Africa and the Middle East in 54 countries starting in July 2010.

People.com is reporting that Mariah Carey has pulled out of Tyler Perry's next film, FOR COLORED GIRLS WHO HAVE CONSIDERED SUICIDE WHEN THE RAINBOW IS ENUF, which is also set to star revealed that Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, and Macy Gray. Filming had been scheduled to begin in June. No reason has been given for the sudden withdraw. Cindi Berger, a rep for Carey merely stated that she is 'not at liberty to discuss her personal life at this time.' For many, this move fuels rumors that Carey may be pregnant, however, the songbird has been mum on the subject. No replacement possibilities for Carey have been announced.

After 32 years, it seems as if every year, everyone and his agent sends a one-act play script to The Ensemble Studio Theatre for its annual marathon of one-act plays, the oldest, acclaimed one-act play festival in the country. This year is no exception with 886 one-act scripts totaling 21,264 pages which were read by 17 readers over 5 months. From that, Ensemble Studio Theatre artistic director William Carden selected 10 plays this spring to be presented on two separate programs for the Ensemble Studio Theatre's 2010 Marathon of One-Act Plays May 24 through June 26.

TNT and TBS today unveiled a broad array of plans for new programming, including several comedy projects that are being considered for TBS and a host of projects in development for TNT. Deadline.com has just revealed that RED star Alfred Molina will be teaming up with Twilight's Taylor Lautner for the upcoming Abduction film. LIONSGATE (NYSE: LGF), the leading next generation studio, has landed an initial 13-episode pickup order from FOX for its new comedy series RUNNING WILDE, produced in association with Tantamount Studios, Will Arnett, Peter Principato and Paul Young. Starring an ensemble cast led by Arnett and Keri Russell, the half-hour series will debut on FOX this fall, airing Tuesdays at 9:30 PM ET/PT.

Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, and SCG Power Rangers LLC, an affiliate of Saban Brands, have partnered to make Nick the U.S. television platform for Power Rangers, the long-running kids' TV phenomenon now heading into its 18th television season. The partnership marks the return of the global franchise to its original developer, Haim Saban, who developed and produced the original 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' series in 1993. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
