Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) Board Chair Anthony W. Crowell announced today that Linda E. Johnson will assume the role of Interim Executive Director effective July 1, 2010. In her role, Johnson will be responsible for the overall executive management and day-to-day operations of the nation's fifth largest public library system, with 60 locations across the Borough.
Twenty-five arts journalists have been chosen from 16 states to participate as fellows in the sixth National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Arts Journalism Institute in Theater and Musical Theater at USC Annenberg. Through the generous support of the NEA, the Institute will be conducted by USC Annenberg's School of Journalism in Los Angeles from May 17-27, 2010.

Steppenwolf celebrated its 33rd season with GALA 2009: A Celebration of the Season of the Imagination on Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Steppenwolf Theatre Company, 1650 N. Halsted St. The ?urban chic? event was attended by 550 guests and raised nearly $1 million for Steppenwolf?s artistic and community programming.
