STAGE TUBE: First Look at Highlights of Theatre at the Center's A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Theatre at the Center celebrates the holidays by bringing audiences an endearing combination of a treasured tale and soaring music by a Disney musical genius, A Christmas Carol: The Musical. Composer Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) infuses the Charles Dickens holiday classic with music the whole family will cherish. Full of cheer for all ages, A Christmas Carol: The Musical opened November 14 and runs through December 22. Theatre at the Center's production will be directed by Artistic Director William Pullinsi and stars five time Jeff-Award nominee Larry Adams as 'Scrooge'. BroadwayWorld Chicago Award Nominations for 2013 Announced: BoHo, CST, MENAGERIE, HANK WILLIAMS And More Lead the Way!

GOOD PEOPLE, 'SUNDAY IN THE PARK', Michael Shannon, Andre De Shields and More Top 2013 Jeff Awards; Winners Announced!

At the gala 45th Annual Equity Jeff Awards held at Drury Lane Oakbrook on Monday, November 4, Steppenwolf Theatre Company's 'Good People' received the award for Production-Play in a large tier theatre. Principal Actress Mariann Mayberry was also honored for her role in this David Lindsey-Abaire play, which considers the dangerous consequences of holding on to the past or leaving it behind. William Brown received Best Director of a play for Writers Theatre's production of the French farce 'The Liar', adapted by David Ives.

Composer Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin) infuses the Charles Dickens holiday classic with music the whole family will cherish. Full of cheer for all ages, A Christmas Carol: The Musical opens November 14 and runs through December 22 at 1040 Ridge Road, Munster. The press performance will be Sunday, November 17 at 7 p.m. Theatre at the Center's production will be directed by Artistic Director William Pullinsi and stars five time Jeff-Award nominee Larry Adams as 'Scrooge'. Adams recently appeared in Oliver! at Drury Lane, Off-Broadway in the The Hunchback Variations, and was in the Broadway production and National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera. He was seen at Theatre at the Center as 'Julian Marsh' in 42nd Street, 'Captain Von Trapp' in the Sound of Music, 'George' in La Cage aux Folles, 'Pilot' in Jesus Christ Superstar and in the title role in Maury Yeston's Phantom.

2012-2013 Jeff Awards Equity Nominations Announced

Five world premiere plays and three new adaptations seen first by Chicago audiences received Jeff nominations by the Jeff Awards Committee and are among the 166 nominations in 36 categories announced for Chicago Equity theatrical productions opened between August 1, 2012 and July 31, 2013.

'Sunday in the Park with George' has a three week run with performances Tuesday through Sunday through August 11, 2013.

BWW Reviews: KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN Burrows Under the Skin in BoHo's New Staging

I hardly know where to begin with this review of the Bohemian Theatre Ensemble's gutsy, stripped-down and yet somehow epic production of “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” the musical by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Terrence McNally that is running at Theatre Wit through June 30, 2013. There, I guess I just began. I'm a jumble of thoughts and feeling right now. Come to think of it, so are the three principal characters.
