The Playhouse has an exciting new season of touring shows and one nighters. It kicks off with SPAMALOT. Aisle Say has seen this a few times and am looking forward once again.

Marieann Meringolo brings her critically acclaimed show, 'Between Yesterday and Tomorrow : The Songs of Alan & Marilyn Bergman' to New York's upper east side cabaret, 'Beach Cafe,' for One Show Only on Saturday, July 28th, 2018. Footloose is based off of a story about Ren McCormack moving to a small town where the local government has banned dancing and rock music, and how he leads his classmates around the law and Reverend Shaw Moore to have a real senior prom. The music is by Tom Snow(among others), the lyrics by Dean Pitchford (with additional lyrics by Kenny Loggins), and the book by Pitchford and Walter Bobbie.

Next week, FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club & Private Event Destination, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond.

On May 14th at the National Arts Club (8p-10p), members and guests will 'get into something red' when the new, original musical - 'THE GIRL IN THE RED DRESS' - has its next reading.

The New York based vocalist has been receiving 'Rave' reviews for her powerful interpretations of the songs written by the legendary team of Alan & Marilyn Bergman. From being called 'The Miracle at Feinstein's,' to being compared to both Streisand and Linda Eder, Marieann's reputation as one of the best interpreters of song working today, continues to soar!  

A soulful retelling of L. Frank Baum's beloved The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, The Wiz combines fairy-tale glamour with street smarts to make a classic fantasy sparkle for today.  And our directors and choreographer will bring a blast of New Orleans Creole magic to this production!  Winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Score, The Wiz ingeniously mixes rock, gospel, soul, and jazz, and features hits like 'Ease on Down the Road,' 'A Brand New Day,' and 'Home.'

Producer Rick Murray will present the 2018 Cabaret Series in Provincetown, MA this summer at The Crown & Anchor's Paramount Theatre, Cabaret Room, and Town Hall Auditorium.  Tickets are now on sale for the Series, in which an impressive list of award-winning stars will be performing live in full concerts.  Following up on last summer's smash hit season, the 2018 Cabaret Series will include the talents of comedian Paula Poundstone as well as Broadway stars Lucie Arnaz (They're Playing Our Song, Pippin), Telly Leung (Aladdin, Allegiance), Anthony Rapp (Rent, If/Then), Linda Eder (Jekyll and Hyde), and Emmy Award winners Leslie Jordan (Will and Grace) and Bruce Vilanch.

The composer who had three shows running simultaneously on Broadway was on stage at The Broadway at Birdland concert series last night and of course Broadwayworld was also there for the special evening.

Audiences have started to listen again at Studio 54. That's because Children of a Lesser God is back, and it officially opened last night on Broadway. Directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon, Children of a Lesser God stars film and television favorite Joshua Jackson and breakout star Lauren Ridloff, alongside Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award winner Anthony Edwards, Drama Desk Award nominee and Obie Award winner Kecia Lewis, Julee Cerda, Treshelle Edmond, and John McGinty. Singer TONIA TECCE, who has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Academy of Music and sung with Peter Nero and many orchestras, made her very successful New York City cabaret debut in 2013 at The Metropolitan Room.

Premiering this Fall, RJR Presents will have the distinct honor of bringing South Florida audiences some of the entertainment world's brightest talents. RJR Presents will be presenting world class artists at many of South Florida's favorite venues throughout it's inaugural season. Linda Eder and her band are celebrating the holidays at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, December 8 at 8pm as part of the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series and Doyle Coffin Architecture Singer Songwriter Series. The award winning vocalist will sing seasonal favorites, Broadway classics and some of her greatest hits in this intimate performance which is partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon and Spa.
