STAGE TUBE: CTG's Artistic Director Michael Ritchie on OTHER DESERT CITIES, Beginning in Nov 2012

Center Theatre Group's Robert Egan will direct Jon Robin Baitz's "Other Desert Cities" at the Mark Taper Forum. The play that received a 2012 Tony nomination for Best Play will be presented in its West Coast premiere at the Taper and will close out the Taper's 45th season at the Los Angeles Music Center. The presentation of "Other Desert Cities" runs November 28, 2012, through January 6, 2013, with the opening set for December 9. FICTION IN PHOTOGRAPHS to Offer 3 Free Presentations at New World Stages

Janet Brenner and Michael Coco will present Fiction in Photographs, a new musical featuring the music and lyrics of Dan Mills, conceived and directed by Randy Redd, and featuring the photography of Sasha Israel. Three free presentations, open to the public, will be offered at the New World Stages/Stage 1 (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) on Wednesday October 10th (4pm), Thursday October 11th (7pm) and Friday October 12th (7pm).

The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs to Present AS YOU LIKE IT, Beginning 11/2

The Brown University/Trinity Rep MFA Programs will present one of Shakespeare's most popular plays, As You Like It, directed by Heidi Handelsman (Brown/Trinity Rep MFA Programs '14). With clever gender reversals and surprising twists of fate, As You Like It has long been considered one of Shakespeare's most romantic comedies. Performances are Friday November 2 at 7:30PM, Saturday November 3 at 2:00PM and 7:30PM, and Sunday November 4 at 2:00PM in the Citizens Bank Theater, Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire Street, Providence. General admission is $10, with a $5 admission for seniors and students. Tickets are now on sale at the Trinity Rep box office, by phone (401) 351-4242, and online at trinityrep.com.

Just in time for the holidays, iLuminate, the sensational dance-in-the-dark act that fuses performance with technology to literally glow in the dark, and earned a third-place finish on season six of 'America's Got Talent,' will debut a live show in New York City at The Duke on 42nd Street, a NEW 42ND STREET project on West 42nd Street. Lincoln Center's six-year, $1.2 billion redevelopment project?completed on time and on budget?will be celebrated with the October 1 dedication ceremony for the final element of the center's transformation: The President's Bridge, named in honor of Reynold Levy, who has led Lincoln Center throughout this ambitious project. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg is scheduled to join other distinguished guests in celebrating the bridge's opening and dedicating the donor wall that acknowledges the leading benefactors of Lincoln Center's redevelopment.

A Free Man of Color, the most recent work by celebrated American playwright John Guare, swaggers onto the stage of the Arts Bank Theater on October 11 in a production by the Ira Brind School of Theater Arts at the University of the Arts. Performances run October 11-14 at the Arts Bank Theater, located at 601 S. Broad Street in Philadelphia.

Lincoln Center Theater to Present Richard Nelson's NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS in 2013

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that it will produce the world premiere of NIKOLAI AND THE OTHERS, a new play by Richard Nelson, in the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater this spring. The play, which was commissioned by Lincoln Center Theater, will be directed by David Cromer and will begin performances on Thursday, April 4. Opening night is Monday, May 6.

WAR HORSE Comes to Atlanta, Now thru Sept 30

Bob Boyett and Harriet Newman Leve have just announced that ANN, a new play written and performed by Emmy Award-winning actress Holland Taylor, will open on Broadway at Lincoln Center Theater's Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street) Thursday, March 7, 2013. ANN is a no-holds-barred portrait of the unforgettable Governor of the Lone Star State, Ann Richards. The play is directed by Benjamin Endsley Klein, and is produced by Bob Boyett and Harriet Newman Leve in association with Lincoln Center Theater. ANN is executive produced by Kevin Bailey who has spearheaded the production since its inception.

Washington National Opera Welcomes Nathan Gunn in Concert Today, 9/23

Washington National Opera (WNO) presents American baritone Nathan Gunn in concert as part of its Celebrity Series today, September 23 at 4 p.m. in the Kennedy Center Opera House. Accompanied by the WNO Orchestra under the baton of Tony Award winner Ted Sperling, Gunn will perform selections from operas by Mozart, Rossini, and Bizet, plus songs by Sondheim and other Broadway composers. American tenor William Burden will join him for a few duets. All three artists will make their WNO debuts with this performance.

Nick Cordero, an original member of the first national tour cast of ROCK OF AGES, joins the Broadway cast of the five-time Tony nominated hit musical on September 24, 2012 at the Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street). Cordero, who will make his Broadway debut, is stepping in for Adam Dannheisser as "Dennis," the owner of The Bourbon Room, while he is on leave to play a role in Disgraced at Lincoln Center Theater's Claire Tow Theater from September 24 - November 18, 2012. Dannheisser returns to ROCK OF AGES on November 19, 2012.

The Flea Extends JOB Through 11/3

After selling out almost all of its originally scheduled performances, The Flea Theater announces an extension of the New York premiere production of JOB, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Flea Resident Director Benjamin Kamine. Previews began August 31, with opening night slated for Wednesday, September 19. Originally scheduled to end October 7, performances will now run through November 3.
