Photo Coverage: Jonathan Pryce & Company Take Bows in THE MERCHANT OF VENICE at Lincoln Center Festival

London's critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe, under the artistic direction of Emma Rice, will light up US stages and screens this summer and fall, with a three-city limited engagement of The Merchant of Venice, which will play limited engagements in New York, Washington, D.C. and Chicago in July and August. Two-time Olivier- and Tony Award-winner Jonathan Pryce stars as Shylock. The production is directed by Jonathan Munby.

Takarazuka, Japan's famous all-female musical theater troupe, makes its first appearance in New York in over 25 years with Takarazuka CHICAGO at Lincoln Center Festival July 20-24 only at the David H. Koch Theater, running concurrently with the Tony Award-winning show, with a legendary book by Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb, and now the number one longest-running American musical in Broadway history.    Just yesterday, the cast of Takarazuka CHICAGO was introduced to the cast of New York City's Broadway production by producers Fran and Berry Weissler. Lincoln Center Out of Doors to Launch This Month with Patti Smith and More

Lincoln Center Out of Doors, one of the country's longest-running outdoor summer festivals, will open its 46th season of free performances today, July 20 at 7:30 pm with multi-faceted artist Patti Smith in an evening of words and music, joined by longtime musical collaborators Lenny Kaye and Tony Shanahan.

Ballet Hispanico & More Featured in Lincoln Center at the Movies Encore

Coming to more than 115 theaters nationwide on Tuesday, August 2 at 7:00 pm (local time) is Ballet Hispanico, led by Artistic Director Eduardo Vilaro, with two audience favorites: CARMEN.maquia, an electrifying contemporary take on Bizet's passionate opera choreographed by Spaniard Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, and Club Havana, a virtuosic re-imagining of a sizzling nightclub by Cuban-born choreographer Pedro Ruiz. The film will include special behind-the-scenes interviews with the dancers and a glimpse of the company's rehearsals.

The Cleveland Orchestra Appoints Abby Mitchell as Chief Development Officer

 Cleveland Orchestra Executive Director Andre Gremillet and Board of Trustees President Dennis W. LaBarre today announced that Abby Mitchell will join the Orchestra as Chief Development Officer on Monday, July 18, 2016.  Ms. Mitchell's charge is to further strengthen the long-term partnership between the Orchestra and its hometown.  Ms. Mitchell takes on the position vacated by Jon Limbacher, who returned to Minnesota to lead the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra as Managing Director and President. 

Daniela Mack Replaces Sasha Cooke in Mostly Mozart Festival 2016 Opener

Lincoln Center announces an artist update for the 50th season's opening program on July 25 and 26. Due to pregnancy, mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke has withdrawn from these performances and will be replaced by Daniela Mack, who makes her New York and Mostly Mozart Festival debuts.
