Tickets for the Broadway transfer of the new musical HAMILTON - now playing a sold-out run Off-Broadway at The Public Theater through May 3 - go on sale to the general public starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, March 8, producer Jeffrey Seller has announced.

Hawaii-born Elle McLemore burst onto the theatre scene in 2011 when she was cast as the evil Eva in the Pre-Broadway National Tour of BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL. Like most of that cast, McLemore went on to make her Broadway debut when the tour made its way to New York the following year. Since then the 23-year-old has been a regular on the final season of ARMY WIVES and one of the stars of Off-Broadway's cult favorite HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL, as 'Cheerleader Heather,' Heather McNamara.

The Public Theater welcomes Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff to the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' tonight, March 3. Groff, who performed in The Public's recent revival of Hair as well as The Bacchae and The Singing Forest, is replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in Something Rotten on Broadway this spring.

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Tony Award nominee Jonathan Groff will join the cast of HAMILTON as 'King George' on Tuesday, March 3 at The Public Theater, replacing Brian d'Arcy James, who will be starring in Something Rotten on Broadway this spring. When the Public Theatre announced HAMILTON's third extension earlier this month, rumors fizzled that the show would in fact transfer to Broadway in time for the 2015 Tony Awards eligibility cut off. Just today, however, the Public announced a special event for tomorrow afternoon, at which the 'HAMILTON creative team, producers and company along with the Public Theater staff at a special gathering to celebrate this new musical.' Could this mean that a Broadway transfer announcement is on its way? Check back tomorrow to find out!
