On Saturday, August 27, PCPA Theaterfest and the Solvang Centennial Committee hosted the Opening Night Celebration benefit reception for the American Premiere of My Fairytale. Guests had the exclusive opportunity to meet the show's creative team including Stephen Schwartz (composer), Philip LaZebnik (book), Flemming Enevold (creator), Scott Schwartz (director), and Mark Booher (PCPA Artistic Director), while enjoying premium local wines and appetizers created by Chef Bradley Ogden. The Hollywood Bowl's production of HAIRSPRAY reunites original Broadway stars Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur. Both Fierstein and Winokur, playing mother Edna Turnblad and daughter Tracy Turnblad, were awarded Tony Awards for best leading actor in a musical and best leading actress in a musical respectively for their appearances in HAIRSPRAY on Broadway. This is the first time that they have performed these roles together in Los Angeles; this is also Fierstein's Hollywood Bowl debut.

Musical Theatre West presents the professional regional premiere of THE WEDDING SINGER at the beautiful 1,070-seat Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach. THE WEDDING SINGER runs through July 24, 2011.

Look below for photos taken from the opening night of FLEETWOOD MACBETH by the award winning Troubadour Theatre Company on July 8, 2011 at the Falcon Theatre in Burbank, CA. FLEETWOOD MACBETH is a mash-up of the Shakespeare tragedy Macbeth with the music of Fleetwood Mac featuring the musical direction of Eric Heinly, choreography by Nadine Ellis and directed by (and featuring) Troubadour Artistic Director, Matt Walker.

As previously reported, FOR THE RECORD: John Hughes celebrates the soundtracks that defined a generation makes its New York City debut at City Winery on June 27th at 8PM. Due to popular demand, a second performance has been added at 10:30pm to accommodate overwelming ticket sales.

Chris Isaacson and the L.A. Gay & Lesbian Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center proudly present the premiere of Jennifer Leigh Warren in 'DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER: the songs of Dame Shirley Bassey,' which will make its Los Angeles debut on June 16 at The Renberg Theatre, 1125 N. McCadden Place in Hollywood, with acclaimed Director Richard Jay-Alexander (Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler 'Kiss My Brass' Tour, Bernadette Peters) at the helm.

Debbie Reynolds has decided to put her entire collection up for auction. The collection is currently on display at LA's Paley Center; view some of the collection, which includes the original Arabian style Wizard of Oz ruby slippers, and Marilyn Monroe's iconic Seven Year Itch subway-scene dress, below!

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & MC COY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT present the fourth production of their 2010-2011 season of shows, the blood-thirsty musical comedy LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, music by Alan Menken, book and lyrics by Howard Ashman, musical direction by David O, choreography by Dana Solimando, directed by La Mirada Theatre's Producing Artistic Director Brian Kite and starring Brett Ryback, Lesli Margherita and Bob Amaral. LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS will open on Friday, April 15 (with a press opening on Saturday, April 16) and run through Sunday, May 1 at La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.

Cabrillo Music Theatre' s brand-new production of the riotous musical by Mel Brooks, THE PRODUCERS, opened on Friday, April 8. at the 1,800-seat Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, located at 2100 Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

In response to the devastating events in Japan, producers Patty Onagan and Ronn Goswick presented Rebuild Japan: A Benefit Concert at The Pasadena Playhouse, a one-night-only event on Monday, April 4 at 7:30pm. Proceeds support the American Red Cross and its efforts to assist overseas as Japan begins to rebuild.
