NY Public Library Presents Katharine Hepburn Papers Series

To celebrate the recent donation and opening for public viewing of the Katharine Hepburn Papers at The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, the Library is presenting a new series of free public programs, Remembering Kate. The programs will include readings from the legendary actress' personal papers for the first time and reminiscences by family, friends, and colleagues including actors Zoe Caldwell, Katharine Houghton (Hepburn's niece), Charlotte Moore, Marian Seldes, and Sam Waterston; talk show host Dick Cavett; and director Anthony Harvey.

'Slug Bearers' New Musical with Friedman & Steggert, Begins 1/25 at Vineyard

The Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre continues its 2007-08 Season with the unique new musical The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island (Or, The Friends of Dr. Rushower) with libretto and drawings by Ben Katchor and music composed by Mark Mulcahy, with previews to begin January 25, prior to its official press opening on February 12 at Vineyard Theatre

NY Performing Arts Library Awarded $1-Million Grant

The Doris Duke Charitable Foundation has awarded a two-year, $1 million grant to The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts to support the preservation of performing arts works and related oral histories through the audio and visual documentation of jazz, contemporary dance, and theater performances by artists or organizations

Memorial Service for Glen Tetley to be Held, April 28

There will be a Memorial Celebration of the life of acclaimed choreographer Glen Tetley, this Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 2:00PM. The memorial will take place at the New York Public Library For The Performing Arts - Dorothy and Lewis B Cullman Center - Bruno Walter Auditorium (111 Amsterdam Avenue at West 65th Street Lincoln Center), and is open to the public.
