The 2018 Boston Pops spring season, May 9-June 16, under the direction of Keith Lockhart, will celebrate the centennial of Leonard Bernstein, one of the greatest international musical figures of the last century-an iconic American musician whose multidimensional talents spanning the worlds of composition, performance, education and conducting greatly influenced the culture at large throughout the mid- and late-20th century, resulting in a legacy that is sure to inspire music lovers far and wide for countless generations to come.  The Boston Pops has an especially proud association with Leonard Bernstein, as he made his professional orchestra conducting debut leading the ensemble during a performance in the Hatch Shell on the Charles River Esplanade in 1941, on the cusp of establishing himself as one of the foremost musicians the country had ever seen.

The Philly POPS announced its 40th Anniversary 2018-19 concert season today. Subscriptions for this celebratory 40th Anniversary Season go on sale at 10 a.m. Moe Septee founded the POPS in November 1979 with a concert at the Academy of Music. Celebrated jazz pianist Peter Nero conducted the POPS from 1979 until 2013.

Some of Broadway's brightest stars—Leslie Odom Jr., Andrew Rannells, Sutton Foster with special guest Jonathan Groff, and Stephanie J. Block—will headline four special performances as part of a new series, Live From Lincoln Center Presents – Stars in Concert. Combining the intimacy of cabaret with Broadway panache, each evening will showcase one of these leading voices of musical theater illuminating their musical journeys to stardom, revisiting favorite songs, and delighting viewers with their versatility and captivating performances.

Bay Area Cabaret is delighted to present An Evening with Liz Callaway. Having appeared with Bay Area Cabaret in concert with her sister, Ann Hampton Callaway, and in a tribute to composer Stephen Schwartz, Liz Callaway-the Tony-nominated Broadway star of Miss Saigon, Baby, Merrily We Roll Along and Cats, and voice of the animated classic, Anastasia-makes her solo Venetian Room debut.

For one night only, Tony Award winner Leslie Odom, Jr. can be heard in the intimate setting at Long Wharf Theatre with his five-piece band performing pop and jazz standards along with tunes from his Broadway roles.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) announced its 2018/19 season to a packed house in Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre earlier this evening.
