Jazz legends, Chick Corea and Gary Burton, come to the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall tonight, November 9, 2012 at 8 p.m. The Grammy winning duo will highlight music from their latest collaborative effort, Hot House, featuring the Harlem String Quartet.

The L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center's Advocate & Gochis Galleries present THINK AGAIN: Collected Public Works, a retrospective exhibition featuring Los Angeles-based political artists S.A. Bachman and David John Attyah. The exhibit opens today, Nov. 9, and there will be a free reception, with light refreshments, on Thursday, November 15, from 7-10 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through December 15.

Like the mansion and the collection that is housed in the Driehaus Museum, the Chicago Jazz Orchestra has a long, impressive, and artistic history. The same could be said for Miles Davis, one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time. Tonight, November 8, join a talented trio of Chicago Jazz Orchestra musicians in paying tribute to Davis in the Driehaus Museum's historic ballroom.

The Kimmel Center's Creative Music Program for Jazz continues its popular Meet the Masters series engaging 25+ regional student musicians, ages 11-17, in master class workshops led by world renowned jazz musicians. On Saturday, November 10, the Meet the Masters workshop is led by one of the top tenor saxophonists and flautists, Gary Thomas, in the Merck Arts Education Center from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Legendary jazz trumpeter and composer Ralph Alessi leads the master workshop on Saturday, December 22. These sessions are open to the public for interested musicians, students and teachers and jazz aficionados who would like to observe.

This November, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem continues to offer a wide range of top quality free programming and affordable concerts from jazz's most celebrated musicians, educators and historians.

Acclaimed Cuban-born drummer Francisco Mela is set to perform at Jazz Standard in New York City and The Scullers Jazz Club in Boston, MA in the coming months with his Cuban Safari and a special quartet consisting of Ben Williams, Gilad Hekselman and Ben Wendel.

Matt Cusson will be performing at The Garage on November 9 at 8pm, preceded by a free songwriting workshop at 4pm. Aspiring songwriters will be able to learn from this award-winning singer/songwriter, who has played with the likes of Brian McKnight, Cee Lo Green and Javier Colon.

The Town Hall's Eighth Annual Broadway Cabaret Festival concludes with The Best of Broadway By The Year on Friday October 26th at 8pm. The festival kicked off with Linda Eder's, Linda Eder, A New Life on Saturday October 13 and continued with Broadway Originals! on Sunday October 21st. The festival is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel.

They will receive The Town Hall's 'Friend of the Arts' Award tonight, October 21st, 2012.

The 1st Annual Bob Stewart Tuba Competition, created by The Duke Ellington Center for the Arts, will be held today, October 20, 2012 from 12 Noon to 5 PM as part of The 37th Annual 52nd Street Duke Ellington Jazz Festival. The competition has been created to provide enhanced exposure to the many dynamic tuba players who perform in improvisational music ensembles in and around the New York area. The five groups chosen for the competition perform in a wide range of genres from traditional and contemporary Jazz to Blues, hip-hop, funk rock and world music.
