World-renowned and award-winning harpist Catherine Michel will perform as soloist for the world premiere performances on February 9, 10 and 11.

It was announced today that, following acclaimed, sold-out runs at Long Wharf Theatre and Shakespeare and Company, Terry Teachout's play Satchmo at the Waldorf, will enjoy a New York premiere this spring. Starring John Douglas Thompson and directed by Gordon Edelstein, Satchmo at the Waldorf will begin performances as Off Broadway's Westside Theatre (407 West 43rd Street) on Saturday, February 15. Opening night is set for Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

Color Struck, by Donald E. Lacy Jr. will be presented on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 7:30pm in the Louis B. Mayer Theatre on the Santa Clara University campus as part of SCU•Presents Arts for Social Justice and Visiting Artist Series. Next month as a part of their Black History Month celebration, The Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street) along with the World Music Institute will offer a special concert from Grammy Award-winning African music star Angelique Kidjo on February 15 at 8pm (co-presented by the World Music Institute). This concert marks the New York stop of her new album release tour. The album, Eve, is being released later this month on 1/28.
