There's more to be seen in 2017 as Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre presents four new shows to its stage for its 44th Season. Plus, a musical theatre classic returns after 20 years, two beloved stories are revisited, and the year is capped off with the silver anniversary of Beef & Boards' own holiday production.

Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas and the San Francisco Symphony's live concert recording of works by Bay Area composer Mason Bates was nominated for a 2017 Grammy® Award today in the category of Best Orchestral Performance.

Tramm will conduct the Morris Choral Society as it opens its 2016-17 season with a holiday themed concert at the Bickford Theater, Morristown, New Jersey on December 10 and 11.th Candles and Carrols will feature works by Caldwell and Ivory, Leavitt, Praetorius, Respighi and Whitacre celebrating over three centuries of inspiring and beloved holiday choral music, essentially chronicling the existence of the Morristown settlement dating back to 1715.

Under the baton of music director conductor George Rothman, Riverside Symphony will present the second installment of its 2016-17 season at Alice Tully Hall on Saturday evening, January 28. From Jacques Ibert's effervescent Parisian Music Hall time (Divertissement) to Juan Trigos' endearingly brash bass concerto, a confident assimilation of high and low culture, to a wittily buoyant, little-known Haydn symphony, the program shows composers in a largely (though by no means exclusively) carefree musical state of mind.

The New York Choral Society (NYChoral) under the direction of its music director David Hayes will ring in the holiday season with a Christmas concert at Alice Tully Hall on Wednesday evening, December 21st, at 7:30 p.m. The program, featuring soloists Frederick Ballentine and Justin Hopkins, will present works by two musical giants of 20th Century American choral music, Robert Shaw, whose 100th birthday would have been this year, and Robert De Cormier, NYChoral Music Director Emeritus, who was awarded the 2016 Michael Korn Founders Award by Chorus America for his lifetime contribution to the choral arts. The concert will also include works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Elizabeth Poston, and James MacMillan, and will end with an audience sing-along of beloved Christmas carols. Entering its eighth season in 2016-17, CONTACT!, the Philharmonic's new-music series, will return to National Sawdust in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, for two chamber programs featuring New York-area composers. This season of CONTACT!complements the Philharmonic's 175th anniversary season celebrations, which highlight the Orchestra's rich history of commissioning and premiering important works and salute its hometown of New York City. Esa-Pekka Salonen, who is in the second year of his three-year tenure as the Philharmonic's Marie-Josee Kravis Composer-in-Residence, continues his advisory role on CONTACT!.
