IMPRESSIONISM Delays Opening Until March 24

The new American play, IMPRESSIONISM, currently in previews at the Schoenfeld Theatre, has announced a new official opening date. Previously scheduled to open on Thursday, March 12th, IMPRESSIONISM will now open on Tuesday, March 24th at Broadway?s Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45 St.).

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop, Artistic Director, and Bernard Gersten, Executive Producer) has announced that Marsha Stephanie Blake, Chad L. Coleman, Michael Cummings, Aunjanue Ellis, Danai Gurira, Andre Holland, Arliss Howard, Ernie Hudson, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, Amari Rose Leigh and Roger Robinson will be featured in the cast of its upcoming production of August Wilson's JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE, to be directed by Bartlett Sher. The production, which will be presented on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44 Street) while LCT's award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific continues its run at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, begins performances Thursday, March 19 at 8pm and opens on Thursday, April 16 at 6:45pm.

New Cirque du Soleil Show KOOZA Headed to Randall's Island, Tickets on Sale Jan. 18

The latest Cirque du Soleil touring show, KOOZA, proudly presented by iShares, will premiere under the Grand Chapiteau in New York at Randall's Island Park on Thursday, April 16, 2009 for a limited engagement. KOOZA is the 10th big top show from Cirque du Soleil to perform in New York since 1988. KOOZA, which premiered in Montreal, Cirque du Soleil's home base, in April of 2007, has been touring North America since, having played engagements in such cities as San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto and Philadelphia to rave reviews and sold-out big tops. Robert Hurwitt in The San Francisco Chronicle called KOOZA 'breath-taking and heart-stopping,' adding. 'KOOZA is Cirque du Soleil at the top of its form.' IMPRESSIONISM starring Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen Begins Rehearsals 1/20

Rehearsals for the new American play IMPRESSIONISM starring Tony Award winners Jeremy Irons and Joan Allen will begin on Tuesday January 20 in New York. The production, which will be directed by Tony Award-winner Jack O'Brien, will begin preview performances on February 28 and open on March 12 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45 Street). The cast features Marsha Mason, Andre DeShields, Michael T. Weiss, Aaron Lazar, and Margarita Levieva.
