While there will music as usual, the focus will be on the words and biographies of NY Times Best-selling Author James Gavin. Gavin will discuss and then open up an interactive Q & A as he leads discussion and remembers American icon, Lena Horne (June 30, 1917 - May 9, 2010) and Chet Baker (December 23, 1929 - May 13, 1988).

Outfest, the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing, showcasing and protecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media, has announced its lineup for Fusion: the Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival.
According to the NY Times, Broadway's Arthur Laurents and partner, Tom Hatcher have awarded playwright Jeff Talbott their first Laurents-Hatcher Award. Talbott, an actor who's play THE SUBMISSION will make its off- Broadway debut at MCC Theatre this year, will receive a $150,000 prize.

Bay Area Cabaret continues its landmark season at the historic Venetian Room with 'Vintage Rose,' the West Coast solo concert debut of Tony Award winner and A.C.T. alumna Anika Noni Rose.
