REPUBLIC RECORDS, CONSTANTIN FILM and SCREEN GEMS have unveiled an eclectic lineup of artists set to be featured on the official soundtrack album for 'The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones', out August 20 th, 2013 in stores and through all digital retailers.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is an upcoming 2013 action adventure fantasy film based on the first book of The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Directed by Harald Zwart, it stars Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers, Godfrey Gao, Lena Headey, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Aidan Turner, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Durand and Jared Harris. It is set to be released in theaters on August 21, 2013.

EWonline reports that HBO's GAME OF THRONES has tapped indie rock band The Hold Steady to create a hit song for the series upcoming third season. The Brooklyn-based band will perform “The Bear and the Maiden Fair,” with lyrics by Martin and music by the show's composer Ramin Djawadi.
