Two River Theater presents Hurricane Diane, a commissioned world premiere written by Madeleine George and directed by Leigh Silverman. On a rainy January 19, at 5:30 p.m. on the steps in front of Actors Theatre of Louisville, members of the Louisville theatre community took part in launching a nation-wide initiative entitled The Ghost Light Project. Besides Actors Theatre, there were representatives from other local companies such as Kentucky Shakespeare, Looking for Lilith, The Liminal Playhouse, Theatre [502], the University of Louisville's African American Theatre Program, among others.

Ars Nova and WP Theater are pleased to present the world premiere of Sundown, Yellow Moon (February 28-April 1), a nighttime play, with songs, by Rachel Bonds, directed by Anne Kauffman (OBIE and Drama Desk Award winner), with songs by the indie-folk duo The Bengsons (Hundred Days) and additional lyrics by Bonds.

Today's big news: Hundreds of organizations across the country take part in THE GHOSTLIGHT PROJECT this evening, and August Wilson's JITNEY opens tonight on Broadway!

At 5:30pm tonight, January 19, 2017, at sunset the eve of the Inauguration, more than 500 theaters, ensembles and companies, high school and university theater programs will gather across the country to light a light and make a pledge to stand for and protect the values of inclusion, participation, and compassion for everyone - regardless of race, class, religion, country of origin, immigration status, (dis)ability, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that the world premiere of On the Exhale, by Martin Zimmerman, directed by Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman, and starring Obie Award winner Marin Ireland, will officially open one week earlier on Sunday, February 19.
