The new Broadway musical, An American in Paris is currently in previews at the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street.) An American In Paris is directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon. Inspired by the Academy-Award winning film,An American in Paris brings this classic tale to Broadway for the first time with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by Tony nominee and Pulitzer Prize finalist Craig Lucas. New York City Ballet will open its 2015-16 Season at Lincoln Center on Tuesday, September 22 with eight performances of Peter Martins' production of Tschaikovsky's Swan Lake, through Tuesday, September 29, to launch the Company's 2015 Fall Season, which will continue for four weeks through Sunday, October 18.

How are cast members supporting each other during 10-out-of-12's? (In case you're unfamiliar with the term, An American in Paris has been working 10 out of 12 scheduled hours this past week at the Palace Theatre. This is a customary, if not notorious, phase of teching a Broadway show.) It's an intense week; there are long hours, frequent adjustments, and a lot of stopping and starting. But each day is incredibly rewarding. There's a lot of first time magic that happens in the theater during tech - you see lighting cues that transform a scene, dazzling new costumes, projections and effects; and the show changes from barebones to stunning before your eyes.

Lynn Ahrens, David Burtka, Erin Davie, Kurt Deutsch, Robert Fairchild, Stephen Flaherty, Marc Kudisch, Susan L. Schulman, Chip Zien and more to appear on show.

The Jewish Channel will broadcast the latest edition of its popular theater-oriented monthly TV show, 'Row J,' to begin airing on demand today, March 10. 'Row J' is hosted by TJC correspondent Meredith Ganzman. The executive producer is Brian Scott Lipton.
