The theatre world is abuzz about the Second Annual BROADWAY BEE on Monday, May 8th (at Le Poisson rouge in NYC). The fundraiser pits some of Broadway's brightest against each other in a high-spirited spelling bee, with eleven teams vying for the trophy.

It's official! As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this year, Disney's Aladdin, the hit Broadway musical, will welcome Broadway vet Telly Leung as the title character beginning Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

With just under two weeks until the 2nd annual BROADWAY BEE fundraiser (May 8 at NYC's Le Poisson Rouge), will Broadway's next major competition see Team Beautiful 'The Carole King Musical' take home the trophy for a second year in a row?

A Class Act NY, the acting studio for kids and teens, offered the opportunity for students ages 7-18 to work with Broadway Stars Courtney Reed (Princess Jasmine in ALADDIN) and Lauryn Ciardullo (Jasmine U/S, Ensemble) in a magical ALADDIN workshop. Check out photos from the workshop below!

Broadway Bound Kids, a NYC performing arts education organization, will host its second annual BROADWAY BEE fundraiser on Monday, May 8, at 7pm at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street, NYC). The Broadway Bee is an adults only spelling bee, featuring actors from current hit Broadway Shows. All proceeds go to provide performing arts opportunities for NYC youth.

The first annual Broadway Bee, featuring Paige Davis (Chicago), Laura Michelle Kelly (Finding Neverland), Tony winner Christian Borle (Something Rotten), and Jose Llana (The King and I) took place just last night at The Cutting Room (44 E. 32nd St). Proceeds benefit Broadway Bound Kids, a NYC performing arts education organization. Ten teams, each representing a Broadway show, were encouraged to pull out all the stops to correctly spell the words. The more funds each team raised, the more they were allowed to cheat!

The 7th Annual Broadway Can! A Concert for City Harvest will be presented at Don't Tell Mama, one night only, Monday, November 16th at 7pm. The evening will be comprised of songs by composer/ lyricist Seth Bisen-Hersh.
