The Laurie Beechman Theatre is very pleased to announce the world-premiere production of Phil Geoffrey Bond's My Queer Youth, directed by Tony Award-winner, Michele Pawk. The solo performance piece, a humorous look at growing up queer amidst the cornfields of southern Indiana, will play the midtown venue for four performances only.

Ars Nova, under the leadership of Artistic Director Jason Eagan, will present the world premiere of the new musical BLOODSONG OF LOVE with book, music & lyrics by multi-award winner Joe Iconis, and directed by John Simpkins. BLOODSONG OF LOVE, which was commissioned and developed by Ars Nova, will begin previews on April 1st prior to an official press opening of April 15th at Ars Nova (511 West 54th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues) in Manhattan.

On Sunday, March 28, Ann Harada, Raymond J. Lee, Deborah Lew, Jose Llana, Ann Sanders, and Christine Toy Johnson, will celebrate the DVD release of 'Transcending - The Wat Misaka Story' with a benefiit concert for the film. The event will take place at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at 9:30pm.

The Marvelous Wonderettes' Christina DeCicco and BAWDY's, Jesse Luttrell have been added as special guests in the upcoming concert, Larry Hamilton: Channel Surfing! Hamilton, who was last seen at Joe's Pub with Our Lady J's Gospel of Dolly, will return to the Laurie Beechman for a second go-round, with tunes from the television and movie screens. Channel Surfing will play one performance only on March 21 at 9:30PM. The concert will also feature 'The Channel Surfing Singers': Geoff Kidwell (Rated:RSO), Mark Mozingo (The Hidden Sky), Anich D'Jae, Tatiana Henderson, Michael Jones, Ryan Scott Lathan, Jennifer Mintzer, JB Reed, Robin Rothman, Rachel Smith, Justin Stratton, and Robert Teasdale. Percy Rodriguez (drums) and Marvelous Wonderettes' Brandon Sturiale (piano) will accompany the evening.

After being forced to postpone the world premier of her lastest piece, THE JACKIE LOOK at the Country Club due to the venue's closing this fall, performance artist Karen Finley will now debut the piece at the Laurie Beechman on Saturday, January 23 at 7:30pm. The multimedia show will run consecutive Saturdays at 7:30pm from January 23 - February 27.

More than 20 of cabaret's brightest stars will be honored at the 25th Annual Bistro Awards which will take place on Tuesday, April 13 at Gotham Comedy Club. Legendary singer-dancer-actress Mitzi Gaynor, star of such films as South Pacific, Les Girls, Anything Goes, and a longtime headliner in Las Vegas and the nightclub circuit, making her first NY night club appearance in years in May at Feinstein's at Loews Regency, will be honored with the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award. Elaine Stritch, the uniquely sensational actress and singer and star of stage, film, and TV, will be recognized in the category of Extraordinary Cabaret Artist, noting her recent conquests of the cabaret stage.
