The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced its 2015-2016 theater season. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA National Tour Breaks Box Office Records in Charlotte

The Charlotte, NC engagement of Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERAbroke the one-week 8 performance box office record at the Belk Theater, grossing $1,424,241 for the week ending February 8, 2015. This tops the previous record of $1,399,577 held by The Lion King in September, 2013. PHANTOM then broke its own record during the second week of their engagement, grossing $1,515,155 for the week ending February 15, 2015. The tour is now in Pittsburgh, PA's Benedum Center playing to near sold-out houses through March 1, 2015.

Luke Kempner to Bring AMERICA'S GOT DOWNTON to City Theatre This Spring

Direct from London's West End comes Seabright Productions' America's Got Downton. Actor, impressionist and YouTube sensation, Luke Kempner, creates more than 30 characters in this tour-de-force one-man parody that blends celebrity visitors with well-known characters from the PBS hit television series "Downton Abbey." Cultures will clash and eras will hilariously collide to help save the estate from financial ruin -- again! America's Got Downton arrives at the City Theatre on Sunday, April 12 with two performances at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

TV: Calling All Kids! SCHOOL OF ROCK Searches for a Rockin' Broadway Class!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, School of Rock-The Musical, will soon have its World Premiere on Broadway. Previews will begin on Monday, November 2, 2015 at the Winter Garden Theatre, with an opening set for Sunday, December 6. Over the weekend, hundreds of musically gifted children gathered at the Winter Garden for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to join the most famous kid band of all time. An open casting call was held, at which hundreds of kids tried to rock, whale, strum and drum their way to Broadway glory on the stage of the Winter Garden Theatre (former home, for nearly 18 record-shattering years, toAndrew Lloyd Webber's Cats). Today, January 24, hundreds of musically gifted children will gather at the Winter Garden for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to join the most famous kid band of all time. An open casting call will be held today, where hundreds of kids will try to rock, whale, strum and drum their way to Broadway glory on the stage of the Winter Garden Theatre (former home, for nearly 18 record-shattering years, to Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats). An additional open casting call for young performers will take place in Chicago on Saturday, January 24 at Actor's Equity Association (557 W. Randolph Street). InDepth InterView: Adam Pascal Talks Upcoming Concerts, UNBREAKABLE: THE MUSICAL, New Movies, New Music, Plus Reflects on RENT, AIDA & More

Today we are talking to the originator of leading roles in two iconic Tony Award-winning musicals of the 1990s and 2000s, RENT and AIDA, as well as a notable presence on the Great White Way in musicals such as CABARET, CHICAGO and MEMPHIS - the charismatic and steel-voiced Adam Pascal. Reflecting on his career highlights as part of Jonathan Larson's seminal rock musical RENT and how it defined an entire generation, Pascal opens up about his participation in the early stages of the show as well as comments on the enduring legacy of Pulitzer Prize-winning musical in its 20th anniversary year. Furthermore, Pascal sheds some light on his other originating role in a Broadway musical as part of Elton John and Tim Rice's Disney stage musical AIDA, sharing observations on headlining a new musical of such epic proportions. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA National Tour Coming to Fabulous Fox, 3/4-15

Cameron Mackintosh and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Really Useful Group are delighted to announce the casting for their spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA currently on sale for the premiere St. Louis engagement at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. With newly reinvented staging and stunning scenic design, this new version of PHANTOM, one of the most successful musicals of all-time, will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this one of the largest productions on tour in North America.

Nikki M. James to Play Final LES MISERABLES Performance on Broadway Today

Tony Award winner Nikki M. James will give her final performance as Eponine in the Cameron Mackintosh production of Boublil & Schonberg's Les Miserables today, January 11. Erin Clemons will take over the role from January 13 through February 8, with Brittney Johnson performing the role February 10 through March 1. Additional principal casting for the production's second year on Broadway will be announced in the coming weeks.
