Strictly Ballroom is waltzing its way to the West End, get a first look at the production below!

Anna Francolini and Gerard Horan will join previously announced Jonny Labey, Zizi Strallen and Will Young in the company for Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom The Musical. Based on Baz Luhrmann's classic film that inspired the world to dance, Strictly Ballroom The Musical will begin performances at the Piccadilly Theatre on Thursday 29th March 2018 (Press Night Tuesday 24th April).

Will Young, Jonny Labey and Zizi Strallen will lead the cast of Baz Luhrmann's Strictly Ballroom The Musical when it makes its West End debut in 2018.

David Mirvish and Global Creatures in association with West Yorkshire Playhouse are delighted to present the North American Premiere of Baz Luhrmann's STRICTLY BALLROOM THE MUSICAL in Toronto.   Based on the beloved 1992 film that inspired the world to dance and that took the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival that year, STRICTLY BALLROOM begins performances Wednesday April 26 and plays through Sunday June 25 at the Princess of Wales Theatre.  Media night is Wednesday May 3 at 8PM.

The full cast has been announced for STRICTLY BALLROOM THE MUSICAL, with an international company coming together ahead of the first UK staging of the musical, which is to premiere onWednesday 30 November at West Yorkshire Playhouse, Leeds. (PressNight: Tuesday 6 December at 7.30pm).

According to the West End Frame, current HAIRSPRAY UK tour producer Mark Goucher, has revealed that he wants the musical to transfer to the West End next year.

The dust has only recently settled on the last production of Hairspray at the Curve in Leicester but now this production is on the road across the UK. Based on the packed house at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham last night, it's proven itself to be a show that people will return to. It's just upsetting that this time around the show did not live up to my expectations.

Tony Maudsley (ITV1's Benidorm) will play Edna Turnblad when Hairspray returns to Edinburgh next year. He will be joined by TV and stage actress and presenter Claire Sweeney (Educating Rita, Guys and Dolls) as Velma Von Tussle, Olivier Award nominated actor and much-loved Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan (BBC1 Tumble) as Wilbur Turnblad and British singer and West End performer Brenda Edwards (Chicago, We Will Rock You, The X Factor) as Motormouth Maybelle. Freya Sutton will reprise the role of Tracy Turnblad alongside established musical theatre performer Jon Tsouras (A Chorus Line) who will play the role of Corny Collins. Dex Lee (The Scottsboro Boys) will play Seaweed, Ashley Gilmour (Miss Saigon) will play Link Larkin, Lauren Stroud (Wicked) will play Amber, Monique Young (Top Hat) will play Penny, Karis Jack (Urinetown) will play Little Inez, Adam Price (Hairspray) will play Male Authority Figure, Tracey Penn (Made in Dagenham) will play Female Authority Figure and Layton Williams (Bad Education, Billy Elliot) will play Duane. Blonde baritone Rhydian Roberts will bring some added X Factor to Grease when he joins the smash hit musical to guest star as ‘Teen Angel' for a limited 6 week season later this year. The singing sensation will leave audiences hopelessly devoted to his charms when Grease rocks into Blackpool (17- 22 October), Sunderland (24 October- 5 November), Liverpool (8- 19 November) and Norwich (22 November-3 December) where he will play 1 week only of the show's 2 week run at the Theatre Royal.
