Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces today the extension of A Midsummer Night's Dream, now playing in the Courtyard Theater through February 3, 2019. Jeanne Lauren Smith and Karen Eleanor Wight are set for a reading of LEAVE PHILADELPHIA, NEVER, written by Michael Wells-Oakes. The family drama will be directed by Cynthia Granville and presented by the 29th Street Playwrights Collective New Work Series on Monday October 1, at the Bernie Wohl Center, 647 Columbus Ave, at 7:30pm.

Television icon, Dorothy Lyman, who is well known for playing Opal Gardner on All My Children and Naomi Oates Harper on Mama's Family, will premiere her new play, In the Bleak Midwinter, at Shetler Studios' Theatre 54, in Manhattan. The production stars Blue Bloods series regular, Abigail Hawk. The limited engagement runs September 8 - 23.

Newnan Theatre Company Presents IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE

Newnan Theatre Company is proud to announce the opening of It's A Wonderful Life, adapted by James Rodgers from the movie directed by Frank Capra. The show opens on November 30 and runs through December 10. This classic story deals with George Bailey, a man who feels like he has given up every dream he had during his youth in order to do what was expected of him, only to find himself feeling unrewarded in every way. In a fit of despair, he wishes that he had never been born. His wish is heard by Clarence, an angel, second class from above who decides to let George see what life would be like for all those whose life he has touched.
