Theatre Raleigh to Present BLOOD DONE SIGN MY NAME, 5/28-6/8

The best selling novel by Timothy B. Tyson, is brought to life by celebrated actor/writer, Michael Wiley in Blood Done Sign My Name May 28th-June 8th at Kennedy Theatre. Blood Done Sign My Name is a dramatization of the true story of a racially-motivated murder committed in Oxford, NC in 1970. The crime and its aftermath still resonate today, as we grapple with Stand Your Ground laws and our personal responses to racism nearly half a century later. Appropriate for ages 16+ (due to subject matter and language).

AMERICAN IDOL's Top-4 Theme & Showtune Suggestions: RENT, DOGFIGHT, CABARET, AVENUE Q, and More

As first reported by TVLine.com, AMERICAN IDOL's Top-4 Week is going to take a very IF/THEN look at love with the theme 'Love: Break-Ups and Make-Ups.' So, after last night's elimination of personality vacuum Sam Woolf, IDOL's Final Four; Jena Irene, Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, and Alex Preston, will each take their turns with two songs each that 'celebrate the agony and the ecstasy of music's greatest theme.'

BWW Reviews: NC Theatre Scores Big with LES MISERABLES

North Carolina Theatre is taking on an iconic work of musical theater with their current staging of LES MISERABLES. Such a piece is quite a feat to put on, and to do it well is a great undertaking, but NC Theatre manages to accomplish something spectacular by combining the best talent of the Triangle with amazing New York actors. The result is a production which does justice to the cultural monolith which is Les Mis. It's a perfect production for die-hard fans and first-timers alike.

North Carolina Theatre (NCT) and Broadway Series South welcomed their blend of Broadway veterans, NYC actors and local talent for LES MISERABLES, opening tonight, February 11, and continuing through February 23. The show will star Raleigh's own Lauren Kennedy, reprising the role of 'Fantine' she played on Broadway, alongside her real-life daughter Riley Campbell as 'Young Cosette'. Broadway veterans Craig Schulman as 'Jean Valjean' and Chuck Wagner as 'Javert' round out this star-studded cast. Check out a first look below!

North Carolina Theatre Opens LES MISERABLES Tonight

North Carolina Theatre (NCT), the region's premier producer of professional Broadway musicals, in association with Broadway Series South, is excited to announce that casting has begun for their February 2014 production of LES MISERABLES directed by Dave Clemmons which will play at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium in the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. This will be the theatre's first time producing this timeless classic.

Dramatists Guild of America Teams with Kyle Ewalt and Michael Ian Walker for DG Conservatory, 2/11

For the first DG Conservatory of the new year, the Dramatists Guild is thrilled to team up with the writers who created Behind the Music-al, Kyle Ewalt and Michael Ian Walker, on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. The event will take place at the Dramatists Guild's New York office, in the Frederick Loewe Room, 1501 Broadway (between 43rd and 44th Streets), Suite 710. This free seminar is opening a limited number of seats to the public and reservations are required.
