The original Broadway cast of CRY-BABY took the stage at 54 Below for a reunion concert last night. Cry-Baby is based on the movie of the same name by John Waters and features a score by David Javerbaum (Act of God) and Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne), and a book by Mark O'Donnell (Hairspray) and Thomas Meehan (Annie). Although it only ran for three months, Cry-Baby was nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and the long-awaited official cast album will be released shortly.

Well after Broadway orchestras begin their overtures, ensemble members take their dance breaks, and performers belt out their eleven o'clock numbers, the party continues at various cabaret venues throughout New York City. On September 17th, most of the original cast of the Broadway musical Cry-Baby will reunite in concert at 54 Below. The 9:30pm & 11:30pm concerts will also serve to celebrate the upcoming cast recording of the show, featuring most of the original cast.
Studio Theatre's 2nd Stage has been transformed into a cabaret theatre, complete with proscenium running lights and a runway that would make any Mama Rose proud. With tongue planted firmly in cheek, the familiar story of Jonathan Demme's Oscar Winning 1991 film, "Silence of the Lambs," comes to life.
Billy Mitchell's VILLAIN: DEBLANKS took words from the audience and transformed them into laughs (on stage and off), bringing tears to the eyes of cast and crowd alike during the hilarious benefit performance at Bucks County Playhouse on June 19, starring the cast of BCP's smash hit COMPANY, including Justin Guarini (Wicked and American Idol Season 1), John Bolton (A Christmas Story: the Musical), Jennifer Cody(Seussical, Disney's The Princess and the Frog), and Laura Jordan (Cry-Baby, Silence! the Musical), as well as Kate Wetherhead (Legally Blonde, 'Submissions Only') and Company Director Hunter Foster (Urinetown, Bridges of Madison County).
