On February 9, Newnan Theatre Company presented its 2013 Gala, NTC's celebration of its 2013/2014 season opening. Season ticket holders and guests were treated to drinks, hors d'oeuvres and desserts. They participated in a silent auction of an intriguing array of items, profits to benefit the theatre, and they were given an opportunity to renew or purchase season memberships at discount prices.

BWW Reviews: The Rep's Hilarious Production of THE FOREIGNER

Before his untimely death in a plane crash in the mid-1980's, playwright Larry Shue had penned two community theatre staples, The Nerd and THE FOREIGNER. While I'm not a big fan of the former, the latter is a fast-paced farce brimming with humor that builds to a hilariously satisfying climax. The current production by the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis is nicely mounted and features a fine cast and direction that takes full advantage of the comic opportunities presented.

DANGEROUS CORNER Kicks Off Crown City Theatre's 2012-13 Season Tonight, 9/27 

Crown City Theatre announces its new season featuring DANGEROUS CORNER by J.B. Priestley tonight, Sept. 27th, 2012, COMPANY by George Furth and Stephen Sondheim Feb. 14th, 2013, and THE FOREIGNER by Larry Shue May 23rd, 2013. Also, keep a look out for their surprise Christmas show to be announced in October(Dates and shows subject to change.)

Tony-Winning Producer Joan Stein Passes Away

Joan Stein, who produced both theatre on the West and East Coasts and television in Los Angeles, died today from appendceal cancer, a family spokesperson announced. She was 59.
