On Sat & Sun, March 21 & 22 - The 25th Annual Southland Theatre Artists Goodwill Event (S.T.A.G.E.) Honoring Michael Kearns will present two tribute concerts entitled 'The Brothers Gershwin: George & Ira' to benefit AIDS Project Los Angeles.
Musical Theatre West is honored to present a benefit 'First Look' screening
of Forever Plaid, the Movie, starring original 'Plaids' Stan Chandler,
David Engel and Larry Raben, as well as Daniel Reichard, best known as the
star of the Broadway production of Jersey Boys. The event will take place
on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long
Beach and will feature a screening of the film proceeded by dinner onstage
at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center with the cast, a question and answer
session following the screening with cast members and production staff
including Forever Plaid creator Stuart Ross, and a dessert reception to
cap off the evening.

Michael Kostroff, best known as Maurice Levy in the HBO series The Wire will play conniving theatrical producer Max Bialystock. Michael traveled the U.S. in the first national tour of The Producers, playing twelve roles a night and understudying both Max Bialystock and Roger De Bris, and toured again in Les Mis?rables, as the comically evil innkeeper, Monsieur Th?nardier.
