Old Globe Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for the West Coast Premiere of Matthew Lopez's The Whipping Man. The Civil War drama is directed by Giovanna Sardelli and will run in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre through June 13. The play, the first-ever original production created by UCLA Live, will be directed by Croatia's Lenka Udovicki who is known for her opera and theater creations throughout Europe.
Academy Award nominee Annette Bening premieres to night in the title role of a new interpretation of Euripides' MEDEA. The show, which opens tonight after several days of previews at UCLA's Freud Playhouse will run through Oct. 18. Lenka Udovicki directs.
