Steppenwolf Theatre Company announces award-winning star of stage and screen Laurie Metcalf as the guest of honor at the 2014/15 annual Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts fundraising luncheon on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 12 noon (location TBD).

Many people in Toronto's arts communities, especially theatre, are still grieving the loss of TheatreBooks after the venerable bookstore closed its doors forever this July after 39 years. Now, many are lost when needing scripts or monologues for auditions. And others feel the same who just love to read about the performing arts.

Due to popular demand, Aurora Theatre Company announces that it will add a second extension week of performances of the West Coast Premiere of Fraser Grace's provocative BREAKFAST WITH MUGABE. Jon Tracy, who directed Aurora's productions of Gidion's Knot and The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, helms BREAKFAST WITH MUGABE, featuring L. Peter Callender (The Soldier's Tale, Permanent Collection), Dan Hiatt (Wittenberg, The Arsonists), Leontyne Mbele-Mbong (African-American Shakespeare Company, Lamplighters), and Adrian Roberts (TheatreWorks, California Shakespeare Theater). Philadelphia Theatre Company's continues its 40th Anniversary season with the Tony Award-nominated play Outside Mullingar by John Patrick Shanley November 28-December 28. Directed by Mary B. Robinson, the cast features Beth Dixon, David Howey, Anthony Lawton, and Kathleen McNenny.

The City Theatre presents the holiday production of Craig Lucas' richly inventive comedy, Reckless. Under the direction of Artistic Director Andy Berkovsky and starring Suzanne Balling, the performances begin tonight, November 21 through December 21 at The City Theatre, with two shows Thanksgiving weekend, Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30.

Cutting Ball Theater opens its 16th season with the World Premiere of SUPERHEROES, written and directed by Sean San Jose. Featuring Myers Clark, Juan Amador, Donald E. The Public Theater announced a second extension for the critically acclaimed FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3), a world premiere play written by Public Theater Master Writer Chair Suzan-Lori Parks. Directed by Jo Bonney, FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS (PARTS 1, 2 & 3) will now run through Sunday, December 7. It was originally scheduled to close on November 16 and extended the first time through November 30.
