Broadway vet Martha Plimpton scored big last night in the debut episode of her new HBO's series, entitled 'How To Make It in America.' Plimpton stars as Edie Weitz in the series, a self-made interior designer who believes she is saving the world 300-square feet at a time. 'How to Make It in America' airs on HBO Sundays at 10pm EST.
Ghost Brothers of Darkland County, a musical written by novelist Stephen King with original music written by rock musician John Mellencamp, will get a new lease on life, it seems. The musical was set to premiere at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia from April 15 through May 10, 2009, but script development issues suspended the premiere. Nashville Gab and thatnashvillesound.com are now reporting that the musical will now debut at the Alliance in September 2010, with A book and CD recording of the songs published prior to its opening.

At its annual awards ceremony GLAAD recognized Prop 8: The Musical, a video created for FunnyorDie.com in response to the passage of Proposition 8, a California ballot initiative which eliminated the right to marry for same-sex couples. Directed by Adam Shankman and written by Marc Shaiman, the video received over one million hits on its first day online. During the show, Miss Coco Peru and the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles performed the song live onstage. Shankman accepted the award on behalf of the team of creators.
