Cast Announced for 10/28 Reading of Andy Halliday's NOTHING BUT TRASH at TNC

Casting has been announced for the first public reading of NOTHING BUT TRASH, a satire of 1950's teen-angst films and gay pulp fiction, produced by Theater For The New City (Crystal Field, Executive Director), written by and starring Andy Halliday(of Charles Busch's Theatre-In-Limbo), with direction by G.R. Johnson (Bounce and Thunder, Seven11.2005). The reading, which is free and open to the public, will take place on Monday, October 28th at 7:30pm in midtown Manhattan.

Teatro Patologico's HAMLET HALLUCINATIONS Comes to La MaMa, 10/17-11/3

Italy's Dario D'Ambrosi is a radical innovator of the theater and founder of the movement called Teatro Patologico (Pathological Theater). Having staged revolutionary interpretations of 'Richard III' in 1996 and 'Romeo and Juliet' in 2009, he is now taking on 'Hamlet' with a new full-length work, 'Hamlet Hallucinations.' La MaMa E.T.C., D'Ambrosi's theatrical home in the USA, will present the work's world premiere October 17 to November 3.

Kenyan Jim Nyamu has embarked on a mission to walk a 560-mile journey this September from New England to the International March for Elephants in Washington DC on October 4. Blake Hammond to Lead Friends Always Creating Theatre's LOST BOY Reading, 10/14

Friends Always Creating Theatre lives-up to its name as they open their 5th season. They are one of the most prolific companies in New York City and will start this season by presenting a One-Night Only Staged Reading of 'The Lost Boy' by the late Ron Paolillo (aka Ron Pallilo) starring Broadway's Blake Hammond and Guiseppe Bausilio.

Brian d'Arcy James, Malcolm Gets and More to Join Ethan Hawke in LCT's MACBETH; Cast Announced!

Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of Producing Artistic Director Andre Bishop, has announced that Bianca Amato, Shirine Babb, John Patrick Doherty, Austin Durant, Richard Easton, Francesca Faridany, Stephanie Fieger, Malcolm Gets, John Glover, Ben Horner, Ruy Iskandar, Brian d'Arcy James, Byron Jennings, Aaron Krohn, Jeremiah Maestas, Christopher McHale, Jonny Orsini, Sam Poon, Triney Sandoval, Nathan Stark, Daniel Sunjata, Patrick Vaill, Tyler Lansing Weaks and Derek Wilson will join Ethan Hawke and Anne-Marie Duff in its upcoming production of Shakespeare's MACBETH, directed by Jack O'Brien. The production, which will feature a cast of 27, will begin previews on Thursday, October 24 and open on Thursday, November 21 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

Zoe Geltman's THE LONELIEST WHALE IN THE WORLD to Premiere at Dream Up Festival, Begin. 8/28

The Loneliest Whale in the World, written by Zoe Geltman and directed by Julia May Jonas, will be performed at the Community Space Theater at Theater for the New City as part of the 2013 Dream Up Festival, from August 28 - September 7. The Loneliest Whale...is a play about a sad whale who has decided to end its own life, and two self-destructive loners who risk allowing their hideous kinks to swallow themselves up. As all three alternately fight and give into the shameful morbid pleasure of obsession and complacency, this performance invites the question: can we ever really fix our broken parts?

SACRED ELEPHANT Teams with World Elephant Day to Increase Awareness

The critically-acclaimed theatre production of 'Sacred Elephant,' to be presented by Sheer Nerve Productions at New York's La MaMa E.T.C. September 5 to 22, and the conservation organization World Elephant Day have joined together to create awareness of these mysterious, majestic creatures. This summer's New York International Fringe Festival will host the new futuristic rock musical BARCODE which features book, music, and lyrics by Debbie Andrews and Mike Blaxill of the New York indie quartet Gladshot, and Hair co-author James Rado as creative consultant. Joe Barros (director of the 2011 FringeNYC hit The Legend of Julie Taymor) directs and choreographs.

Meet Matt Baxter Luceno, ELTC's Ichabod Crane in THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW

Playing the role of Ichabod Crane in the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company's production of the world premiere of 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,' is Matt Baxter Luceno. His first appearance with ELTC was playing Rodney Martin in the comedy 'It Pays to Advertise' last fall, and now he's back as the music and school teacher from Connecticut who lands a job in superstitious Tarrytown, New York.

THE PAST IS STILL AHEAD Set for Midtown International Theatre Festival, Now thru 7/28

In 'The Past Is Still Ahead' by Sophia Romma, one of Russia's most ill-fated and controversial cult poets of the twentieth century, Marina Tsvetaeva, revisits the tumultuously tragic and sexy events of her life--just before she succumbs to 'suicide' at the hands of the Soviet Secret Police in 1941 while exiled in Siberia. The play will be presented by Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival tonight, July 23, 27 and 28 at The Jewel Box Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, 4th floor, NYC, directed by Francois Rochaix.
