Photo Flash: fruitlessmoon theatreworks presents the World Premiere of AMERICAN CARNAGE: A LOVE STORY

AMERICAN CARNAGE: A LOVE STORY by Aimee Greenberg - a world premiere presented by fruitlessmoon theatreworks. An unlikely love story - part sci-fi and part thriller in a future where high technology manifests organically within humans and manufactured beings. 'YML' is from an evolved species and events trigger feelings he didn't expect to have. . .it's a tale of alternate worlds examining the idea of what is human, where are the boundaries when senses have been removed. AMERICAN CARNAGE: A LOVE STORY presents a dystopian look at a future shaped by our current world.

In 'Follies in Titus,' Italy's Dario D'Ambrosi, originator of the theatrical movement called Teatro Patologico (Pathological Theater), re-imagines Shakespeare's 'Titus Andronicus,' retelling the bard's bloodiest and most violent work through the voices of the patients of a psychiatric hospital.

BWW Review: Michael Urie and Mercedes Ruehl Sing Out Triumphantly in Harvey Fierstein's TORCH SONG

'We opened for an eight-week limited engagement and could not give a ticket away for three weeks.' That's how Harvey Fierstein described the giant leap of faith that, in 1981, brought a trio of his one-act plays that had each premiered separately on East 4th Street at the basement of Ellen Stewart's La MaMa, E.T.C., to an Off-Off-Broadway mounting on West 62nd Street, produced by John Glines' non-profit company, The Glines.

AMERICAN CARNAGE: A LOVE STORY Opens 11/10 at City Heights Performance Annex

Exciting developments at fruitlessmoon theatreworks . . . this dynamic new play has taken wing and metamorphosed from its chrysalis state. With some new cast members and the distinct refinements that come with first rehearsals AMERICAN CARNAGE: A LOVE STORY will challenge some concepts of the future. Each day we read in the papers articles about developments with robots - sexbot 'Harmony' is being built in North San Diego County while in Italy a robot is being developed that will have a 'brain' and learn new things like a human child. As the future world looms indefinitely and indistinctly ahead, this new play by Aimee Greenberg presents one possible scenario.

BLACK GIRL MAGIC SHOW! by nicHi douglas Comes to Brooklyn's JACK

Black Girl Magic Show! is an absurdist dance theatre lecture by playwright/performer nicHi douglas on Black female identity. Utilizing African Diasporan histories, Black feminist theory, and a lot of stuff douglas made up, she attempts to unpack, re-pack, and de-pack the Black female experience in America as witnessed by one Black woman - The Professor. As the audience follows The Professor, they discover what might happen if the one Black girl without 'Black Girl Magic' takes matters into her own hands. Before the show ends, the audience experiences a TED-type talk, modern dance, a magic routine, and a concert, often simultaneously. And they probably see at least 20 wigs.
