Deadline.com is reporting that Sting and NEXT TO NORMAL's Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning writer and lyricist Brian Yorkey. Few details on the nature of the show have been revealed, however it is believed that it is inspired by Sting's memoir, Broken Music. The show, however, is allegedly not a autobiographical. No word on whether or not the score would be original.

Monday's New York Times is reporting that Broadway's Next to Normal has joined the 25-30 percent of Broadway shows that have earned back the show's initial investment. The show marked it's one-year anniversary last night (Saturday) as it it prepares for a national tour that begins in November, producers announced that the show has earned back it's full $4 million in capitalization.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that come next month, Broadway's NEXT TO NORMAL may welcome a new, real life couple into the roles of Diana and Dan. Sarah Uriarte Berry (The Light in the Piazza, Taboo), is now preparing to understudy Diana when regular understudy Jessica Phillips is on vacation the week of February 15. The role of Diana will continue to be played by Tony-winner Alice Ripley. Her husband, Michael Berry, currently understudies Dan and Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine. If all aligns, the couple could appear opposite one another during that week.
lectric Youth, a musical theater ensemble trained at the Franklin School for the Performing Arts (FSPA), saw their name in lights on a Times Square marquee billing their off-Broadway Showcase performed on January 9th. Electric Youth was represented for the first time at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters Convention held at the New York Hilton, January 8 - 11. The Electric Youth showcase was staged at the Times Square Arts Center. Accompanied by their eight-piece band of Boston based musicians, they entertained an enthusiastic audience including New York guests and convention attendees as well as FSPA families and alumni.
