The 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards is airing live coast to coast tonight, on August 29 (8-11 p.m. EST) on NBC, originating from the Nokia Theatre L.A. in Los Angeles. The awards are being produced by Don Mischer and hosted by Jimmy Fallon.

According to deadline.com, amongst a short list of announced Primetime Emmy Award presenters is Broadway veteran and GLEE superstar Matthew Morrison . Fellow Emmy nominees January Jones, Julianna Margulies, and Sofia Vergara along with Ricky Gervais and John Krasinski are the first group of presenters announced for the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards.

Tom O'Neil, author of the LA Times Gold Derby column, has revealed that fan favorite, Neil Patrick Harris, has just been granted a third 2010 Primetime Emmy nomination for his performance as the 2009 Tony Awards host in the category of Special-Class Program. Why the delay, as nominees were announced on July 8? An oversight, according to O'Neil.

Universal Media Studios has signed an overall development deal with Peter Berg and his partner Sarah Aubrey's production company Film 44 (NBC's 'Friday Night Lights,' 'Hancock'). As part of the new agreement, Film 44 will produce the drama pilot 'Prime Suspect.'

NBC unfurls its Spring sweeps with a banner full of special episodes along with the broadcast return of 'Friday Night Lights' (May 7, 8-9 p.m. ET) and the live finales of 'The Biggest Loser' (May 25, 8-10 p.m. ET) and 'The Celebrity Apprentice' (two-parter, May 16 and May 23, 9-11 p.m. ET both nights).

Last night, March 18, 2010 the stars of Los Angeles came out for the A Night at Sardi's annual musical revue and gala, benefitting the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer's Association. Laurie Burrows Grad founded this event 18 years ago in honor of her father, the late playwright Abe Burrows. To date, A Night at Sardi's has raised close to $18 million in the fight against Alzheimer's. Last night's evening raised $1 million alone.

Wreghitt, Chris Presley and Ellen Rusconi announced today that Warren Carlyle, the director/choreographer of the current acclaimed Broadway revival of Finian's Rainbow, has joined the creative team of the Broadway-bound musical PURE COUNTRY. Multi-platinum Country music star Lorrie Morgan has been cast in the Broadway-bound production of the hit movie PURE COUNTRY, producers Randall L. Wreghitt, Chris Presley and Ellen Rusconi announced today. Morgan joins fellow Country music star Joe Nichols to headline the new musical that is expected to open on Broadway in early 2010. As previously announced, Nichols takes on the role of ?Rusty' [?Dusty' in the movie], which was made famous in the film by George Strait. Morgan now joins him to play the role of ?Lula,' Rusty's ruthless manager, which was created on film by Lesley Anne Warren.
