Seattle Shakespeare Company is currently presenting their first ever foray into musical theater with "The Threepenny Opera". A show that seasoned musical theater companies would have difficulty with; this typically Shakespearean company in their 20th year handles it with vision, humor and heart.

Seattle Shakespeare Company announced today its plans to produce The Threepenny Opera at the Intiman Theatre. The Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill musical satire about the dapper criminal, Mac the Knife, and the denizens of his seedy underworld will run February 16 through March 6, 2011 for 15 performances only.

Madison Opera continues its 50th anniversary season with the company premiere of Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera in The Playhouse at the Overture Center for the Arts. The Threepeny Opera will close on Feb. 13, 2011. The production is Madison Opera's second venture in the intimate Playhouse and features a stellar cast from across theater and opera.
