This weekend, April 2-4, the Houston Symphony celebrates the iconic pop music of the United Kingdom in U.K. Rocks.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to welcome back Broadway and tv actress Anita Gillette, who debuted a new concert entitled 'So, As I Was Saying.' The one-night-only event took place on Monday, March 30 at 7pm. BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

While both plays spoke to the times in which they were first produced - Weimar Germany and Elizabethan England, respectively - they also speak to this season's theme of REVOLUTION, most especially from a socio-political point of view. Fourteen exceptionally talented singer-actors from the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany have been selected as finalists in the 2015 Lotte Lenya Competition, held annually by the Kurt Weill Foundation for Music. They will compete for top prizes of $15,000, $10,000 and $7,500 on Saturday, April 18, 2015, in Rochester, New York.

Villanova Theatre presents The Threepenny Opera, with book and lyrics by Bertolt Brecht, music by Kurt Weill, directed by Valerie Joyce, and on stage April 14-26, 2015. Villanova's reimagined production will feature actors playing instruments, a striking industrial aesthetic, and a timely message.
