LOMBARDI, a new play by Oscar winner and Steppenwolf Theater Company member Eric Simonson, is based on the best-selling biography When Pride Still Mattered, by Pulitzer Prize winning author David Maraniss. Opening on Broadway in the fall of 2010, this original work will bring the audience into the life and times of one of America's most inspirational and mercurial personalities, Hall of Fame football coach Vince Lombardi.

On November 14, elite members of the New Music Ensemble of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and American Conservatory Theater Master of Fine Arts Program students will collaborate for the first time to present Stravinsky's Soldier's Tale, a cautionary parable about a Russian soldier who makes a deal with the devil, trading his beloved fiddle and, unwittingly, his happiness, in exchange for a book that predicts the economic future.

The Festival, which will include production by theater companies from around the US & Canada, will frame the conference of the Association for Jewish Theatres (June 6-10), which will be hosted by Untitled Theater Co. #61, Artistic Director Edward Einhorn. This international conference of Jewish theater professionals is held annually in a different city.

PS Classics will release a new 2-CD set, HOWARD SINGS ASHMAN, as part of their ongoing Songwriter Series, on November 11, 2008. The album features performances by the late American playwright and film music lyricist. The first CD has 18 tracks, and include several collaborations with Mencken from ALADDIN, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, GOD BLESS YOU MR. ROSEWATER and THE LITTLE MERMAID. The other CD features 15 unreleased demo recordings from SMILE, a Broadway collaboration between Ashman and Marvin Hamlisch.
