The National Endowment for the Arts announced Tuesday that The Neo-Futurists are the recipients of an Art Works grant for the development of Neo-Lab's inaugural production, Saturn Returns, as well as its companion event The Neo-Futurist Kitchen (a micro-festival on art and performance). The Neo-Futurists also announce the creation of Neo-Access, a 3-pronged initiative to break down barriers and create inclusive and collaborative work for audiences and artists.
The Neo-Futurists creep into fall with a chilling Halloween performance of Too Much Fright Makes The Baby Go Blind and the first spin of Saturn Returns.
For the second year in a row, The Neo-Futurists bring their signature show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind to the lower West side and South Shore communities. As part of the city's Night Out in the Parks program, Too Much Light... first heads to Harrison Park, 1824 S. Wood St. for 7:00 p.m. shows on August 20 and 21. This fall, the show heads to the Don Nash Community Center at 1833 E. 71st St. for shows on October 2 at 6:00 p.m. and October 3 at 2:00 p.m.
The Neo-Futurists announce their 2015-16 season alongside a slate of new artistic initiatives which explore devised theater and new works. The season includes two prime time productions: POP WAITS created by Malic White and Molly Brennan, and Mike Mother created and written by Jessica Anne. In addition, the company launches a series of year-round developmental presentations including a quarterly experimental performance workshop The Arrow created by Kurt Chiang and Lily Mooney as well as a new works residency Neo-Lab with an inaugural workshop of Saturn Returns created by Tif Harrison. The Neo-Futurists document this year of devised work exploration through Go! A Podcast about Creativity and continue another great year of the smash hit Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind. All season events are held at The Neo-Futurarium, 5153 N. Ashland (at Foster) in Andersonville.

Events include their annual gala, The Neoccasion (where Neos past and present get spiffed up and spit shined) and T.M.L.M.T.B.G.B. - The Baby Returns To The Cradle, a special one-night show on the 25th Anniversary of T.M.L.'s first performance at the original location, featuring favorite personalities from the show's history.

These residencies are full-term engagements to support arts creators throughout the creation process of a new idea from inception to realization. Through this residency, lab mentors have supported Lacy Katherine Campbell's THEN, ONE NIGHT through strategic and business planning, documentation and evaluation, clarity and encouragement, and artistic feedback. Jonny Stax Presents also brokered space for rehearsal and presentation with their Lab partners at Teatro Luna, North Shore Baptist Church, and Stage 773.
