Kristin Scott Thomas will play the Queen in a new version of Peter Morgan's The Audience. Stephen Daldry's production will preview at the Apollo Theatre from 21 April 2015, with press night on 5 May 2015 and is booking to 25 July 2015. Tickets are released for sale today (31 October 2014). The Audience has designs by Bob Crowley, with lighting by Rick Fisher, sound by Paul Arditti and music by Paul Englishby. Further casting to be announced.

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced additional casting for The Real Thing, starring Ewan McGregor as 'Henry,' Maggie Gyllenhaal as 'Annie,' Cynthia Nixon as 'Charlotte' and Josh Hamilton as 'Max.' Tom Stoppard's Tony Award-winning play The Real Thing, directed by Sam Gold begins preview performances on Thursday, October 2, 2014 and opens officially on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway (227 West 42ndStreet). This is a limited engagement. The cast also includes Alex Breaux as 'Brodie' and Madeline Weinstein as 'Debbie.' Final casting to be announced.

The Weston Playhouse Theatre Company has announced plans for its annual London Theatre Tour, visiting the capital of the English-speaking theatre world from November 4 to 13, 2014. Weston Producing Artistic Director Steve Stettler and London Tour Director Giles Ramsay who have designed the company's 12 previous tours will again be leading the group. Registration has begun, and the company expects to have a full group prior to the official registration deadline of August 4.

Initial casting for Arthur Miller's The Crucible is announced. The Old Vic today announced its programme for Summer/Autumn 2014. The CQS Space, The Old Vic in the round, will be home to the whole season of productions, continuing after Other Desert Cities which opens this month. The plays will be performed in the round, a transformation of The Old Vic's auditorium first seen for the award-winning 2008 production of The Norman Conquests. The season of productions is supported for the fourth consecutive year by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Kristin Scott Thomas is done with films. After starring in 65 features over the course of 30 years, the actress told the Guardian that she reached her breaking point at some point last September. Nor will she be appearing on television. Off-screen and onstage seems to be the way Thomas is headed. She played the title role in BERENICE in France in 2001 and loved it.
