Complete casting has been announced for the world premiere Pre-Broadway engagement of the new musical comedy Beetlejuice.

It was announced today that Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman (School of Rock) will star as 'Beetlejuice' and two-time Lortel Award nominee Sophia Anne Caruso (Lazarus) will star as 'Lydia' in the world premiere Pre-Broadway engagement of the new musical comedy Beetlejuice.

Set in Nashville, Tennessee, it is an intriguing story based on Anton Chekhov's 'The Seagull' that deals with the complexities of human relationships. Written by Michael Kimmel, with music and lyrics by Lauren Pritchard, the show features the finest direction by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, choreography by Marc Kimelman, and musical direction by Kris Kukul.

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces the cast and creative team for its production of Songbird, a musical written by Michael Kimmel, with music and lyrics by Lauren Pritchard, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch. The choreography is by Marc Kimelman. Music direction and additional arrangements and orchestrations are by Kris Kukul. The production will run June 9 - July 1, 2018. Songbird is presented by special arrangement with Allison Bressi and Diana Buckhantz.

Theatre Ventures (Mark Kaufman) and Langley Park Productions (Kevin McCormick) announced today that the new musical comedy Beetlejuice will make its world premiere in a Pre-Broadway engagement at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. in October 2018. Directed by two- time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Peter and the Starcatcher) and choreographed by Connor Gallagher (The Robber Bridegroom), Beetlejuice features an original score by Eddie Perfect (King Kong) and a book by Scott Brown and Emmy Award nominee Anthony King (Broad City).

Newly announced 2018 Jonathan Larson Grant Recipients ZOE SARNAK (music & lyrics) and EMILY KACZMAREK (book) are bringing their new, original musical AFTERWORDS to the stage, as part of the Beta Series at Village Theatre, a leading producer of musical theatre in the Pacific Northwest. 

Afterwords, a contemporary musical currently in development, will begin its Beta Series production at Village Theatre's First Stage Theatre in Issaquah on February 16, 2018. While current Broadway productions cater to mostly male heteronormative story lines and production teams, Afterwords aims to change that by featuring a story focused on three strong and unique queer women, and led by a female creative team with a book by Emily Kaczmarek, music & lyrics by Zoe Sarnak, and direction by Adrienne Campbell-Holt.
