At Gypsy of the Year 2016, cast members from The Lion King performed a moving spoken-word piece giving voice to those marginalized by the current political climate performed by cast members Lamar Baylor, Kimberly Marable, Matthew Morgan, Brenda O'Brien and L. Steven Taylor. 

The life of a young Broadway performer isn't easy-these kids are practically living double lives, going from a busy, exhausting school day to casually performing in a Broadway show eight times a week. #nbd But despite their jam-packed schedules, these talented t(w)eens still make time to do good in the world with KIDS SERVE, a program of BROADWAY SERVES dedicated to providing Great White Way youngsters with the chance to give back.

Camp Looking Glass, a year-round program dedicated to the inclusion of the special needs population, is bringing together some of Broadway's biggest stars for its 2nd annual "Broadway Camp Talent Show" fundraiser. The performance will take place on Nov 7, 2016 at 7:00 PM at The Cutting Room (44 East 32nd St.).

BROADWAY SESSIONS is an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.  This Thursday, September 8th, Broadway Sessions is thrilled to welcome cast members from the Tony award winning, box office behemoth, The Lion King.

Accidental Pictures presents the online poetry miniseries entitled THE PRIDE PROJECT. They release seven poems every Monday for seven consecutive weeks through June 27th, 2016 on Facebook and YouTube. These poems, written by Timothy Ware (Broadway's KINKY BOOTS), are performed by 10 American actors of African, Latin, Asian, and European descent. Amas Musical Theatre and The Amas Musical Theatre Lab will present additional staged readings next month of two musicals in development for upcoming full productions. First up will be Gotta Getta Girl, a 1930's musical romp with book and lyrics by Peter Charles Morris and music by David Caldwell, directed by Phillip George (Forbidden Broadway) with musical direction by Mr. Caldwell. The readings will be held on Monday, November 2 @ 6pm and Tuesday November 3 @ 3pm & 7pm, at The Playroom Theatre (151 West 46thStreet, 8th Floor - between Broadway & 6th Avenue).

Kimberly Marable (The Lion King, Sister Act) makes her return to the cabaret stage with #LifeMatters following her sell-out debut this past spring at 42West. Katie Thompson (Giant) and Tamika Sonja Lawrence (If/Then) join Kimberly Marable (The Lion King) making her solo debut at 42West. The evening will feature a funked up and jazzed down concert of music and storytelling including Anne Fraser Thomas (Broadway Inspirational Voices), Phyre Hawkins (The Book of Mormon) and Melvin Abston (Sister Act) Monday, March 23rd, 2015 at 8PM.

Mostly Sondheim, the long-running musical theater open mic at The Duplex Cabaret, welcomes Kimberly Marable (Lion King), Brandon James Gwinn, and Jim Territo on Friday, March 13.
