The Greenhouse Ensemble, a company devoted to cultivating a positive, judgment-free environment where artists create fully-realized work, announces the first offering in its new workshop program for artists. Founding Artistic Director, Hazen Cuyler, said the new initiative will begin with The Playwright Reading Workshop, led by Kim T. Sharp.

Abingdon Theatre Company, located in Manhattan's Garment District, announces that Associate Artistic Director Kim T. Sharp is departing after a 16-year association with the company. Sharp will pursue theatre projects he has nurtured and explore further literary and management opportunities.

On Monday, December 14, San Francisco-based playwright Jordan Ramirez Puckett received Abingdon Theatre Company's 2015 Christopher Brian Wolk Award for her play Restore. Artistic Director Tony Speciale presented Ms. Puckett with her award and directed a stage reading of the new play about how an unthinkable event affects a young couple and their families. The reading featured Chris Dwan, Yvette Ganier, Ginger Grace, Dominique Fishback, and Michael Winther, with stage directions read by Zach McCoy.

Abingdon Theatre Company launches its 2015-2016 Season with the world premiere of CUT THROAT by JB Reich in the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Rehearsals began today for Abingdon Theatre Company's world premiere of MALLORCA by two-time Emmy nominee Sheldon Bull ('Newhart'), with performances set to run May 29-June 21, in the Dorothy Strelsin Theatre (312 West 36th Street). Abingdon Theatre Company announces that the world premiere of Brian Richard Mori's HELLMAN v. McCARTHY, a new play the feud between literary legends Lillian Hellman and Mary McCarthy, will be recorded by THIRTEEN Productions LLC for WNET on Friday, April 11 at 8pm. The Off-Broadway play starring Dick Cavett, Roberta Maxwell and Marcia Rodd, will be filmed for broadcast on a future date.
