DTC Announces Kristoffer Diaz Commissions

Dallas Theater Center is pleased to announce it is commissioning two new works from playwright Kristoffer Diaz in collaboration with The Public Theater.

On Wednesday, June 1, Clubbed Thumb celebrated its upcoming 16th annual festival of new plays, SUMMERWORKS 2011, at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Avenue) with EXQUISITE CORPSE, a special evening of short plays by Mary Hamilton, Nick Jones, Jon Kern, Michael Mitnick, Megan Mostyn-Brown, Kim Rosenstock and Susan Soon He Stanton.

Partial Comfort Productions Presents A GOOD EVENING, 9/6

Partial Comfort Productions follows up its 3-time Drama Desk Award nominate and Obie Award winning production of Samuel D. Hunter's A Bright New Boise with the World Premiere of Chad Beckim's A GOOD ENDING. Stephen Brackett directs. Previews begin March 30 at The Wild Project where Partial Comfort is a resident company. Opening night is slated for April 6.

Rising Phoenix Rep Cino Nights Presents ROW AFTER ROW May 22

Following the sold out performances and overflow crowds at its first seven Cino Nights presentations (of new plays by Gary Sunshine, Mando Alvarado, Courtney Baron, Florencia Lozano, Kristen Palmer, Emily DeVoti, and Lucy Thurber) Rising Phoenix Rep continues the series on May 22nd at 7 p.m. with Jessica Dickey's Row After Row.

TIGERS BE STILL Makes West Coast Premiere June 21-July 30

The SF Playhouse (Bill English, Artistic Director; Susi Damilano, Producing Director) has announced the world premiere of Alcestis (doesn't live here anymore) will be postponed to next season to provide more time to develop the musical aspects of the piece.

Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the complete cast and creative team for Tracy Letts' award-winning play, August: Osage County. Directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold, the dark comedy will run in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, May 7 - June 12. Preview performances run May 7 - May 11. Opening night is Thursday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are currently available by subscription only.
