City Lights Theater Company's 33rd Season to Include AMERICAN IDIOT, THE ELEPHANT MAN & More

City Lights Theater Company's 33rd season will take audiences from Victorian England to post-9/11 suburbia, from gripping drama to quirky comedy and contemporary rock. The spirited downtown company presents a six-show mainstage season at 529 S. Second St. in San Jose that offers audiences both fresh works and new takes on the classics.

Megan Hilty and Seth Rudetsky to Headline DTC's Centerstage 2015 Gala

Dallas Theater Center announced today Megan Hilty and Seth Rudetsky will headline Centerstage 2015 on Saturday, May 9. Chaired by Yvette Ostolaza, with Underwriting Chair Kersten Rettig and Honorary Chair Jeanne Marie Clossey, Centerstage 2015 will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre, which will be transformed for the evening.

Shaina Taub to Host Musical Theatre Factory's FACTORY SALON Tomorrow

Musical Theatre Factory (MTF) will present its monthly Factory Salon with guest host Shaina Taub, and featuring the work of singer/songwriter Jean Rohe (Jean Rohe & The End of the World Show), and singer/songwriter Eisa Davis (Flowers Are Sleeping, Bulrusher).

Theater Wit Extends 'MR. BURNS' Through 3/22

Theater Wit announced today a three-week extension of the company's smash hit production of Mr. Burns, a post-electric play, Anne Washburn's comedy/drama/musical about a post-apocalyptic world comforted by memories of 'The Simpsons.'

Roundabout Underground's LITTLE CHILDREN DREAM OF GOD Opens Tonight

Roundabout Theatre Company presents the Roundabout Underground world-premiere production of Little Children Dream of God, a new play by Jeff Augustin. The world premiere of Little Children Dream of God began preview performances Off-Broadway on January 24 and officially opens tonight, February 17, 2015 at the Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This is a limited engagement through Sunday, April 5, 2015.

Alley Theatre to Present ALL THE WAY as Part of First Season at New Venue

As part of the Alley Theatre's inaugural season in its renovated downtown building, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan's All The Way, a co-production with Dallas Theatre Center, will be performed in the new Hubbard Theatre. Members of the Alley's Resident Company will join with members of the Dallas Theater Center to create this monumental play about Lyndon B. Johnson's early days in office, rehearsing and performing in Houston in January 2016 and travelling to Dallas for a second run in March 2016.

World Premiere of Lindsey Ferrentino's UGLY LIES THE BONE Set for Roundabout Underground

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the next Roundabout Underground production, the world premiere of Ugly Lies the Bone, a new play by Lindsey Ferrentino, directed by Patricia McGregor. Ugly Lies the Bone, which was presented as part of last year's Underground Reading Series at Roundabout, is the first-ever recipient of a Special Citation of Excellence from The Laurents / Hatcher Foundation. The cast and creative team will be announced at a later date.

A.R.T./MXAT Institute to Present BRIDE*WIDOW*HAG at the Loeb Drama Center

The American Repertory Theater/Moscow Art Theater School Institute for Advanced Theater Training, presents Kim Rosenstock's comedy, BRIDE*WIDOW*HAG, directed by Shira Milkowsky. Performances will take place at The Ex, inside the Loeb Drama Center, Harvard Square on January 22, 23 at 7:30PM and January 24 at 2PM & 7:30PM.

Meredith McDonough, who previously worked on the new hit musical Fly By Night, returns to make her DTC directorial debut in this comedy about books and the people who love them. The Book Club Play begins previews tonight, January 1, 2015 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, February 1.

Black Lab Theatre to Present TIGERS BE STILL Next Month

Black Lab Theatre has become well known for showcasing the city's funniest young talents, and this season's January regional premiere of Kim Rosenstock's Tigers Be Still will be no exception. Black Lab artistic director Jordan Jaffe will delight Houston audiences with the city's most dynamic father-son acting combo, pairing the award winning talents of Justin Doran and his son, Ty Doran in an endearing and humorous look at family dysfunction and high school art instruction. Doran, a resident director at Black Lab Theatre and frequent star at Stages Repertory Theatre and the Alley Theatre, will star together with his son Ty in Tigers Be Still with the senior Doran playing Joseph Moore, a high school principal and young Ty his wayward son Zach.

THE SANTALAND DIARES Opens Tonight at Theater Wit

Fear not fans of subversive holiday entertainment. Theater Wit is re-gifting Chicago with its 11th annual production of The Santaland Diaries, based on David Sedaris' true comic tale of his hilarious stint as one of Santa's elves at Macy's Department Store.
