FUN HOME looks and sounds great, and has many, many moments of brilliance.

Cadence Theatre Company and Virginia Repertory Theatre are pleased to present their first co-production of the 2017-2018 Cadence Season, Fun Home, book and lyrics by Lisa Kronand music by Jeanine Tesori. Adapted from the graphic memoir by Alison Bechdel, Fun Home is in celebration of Richmond Triangle Players'25th Anniversary Season.

The images are haunting. Their stories are heartbreaking. Prior to the Pulse nightclub tragedy, it was the most deadly attack against the LGBT community. The arson at the UpStairs Lounge in the French Quarter of New Orleans is at the center of Richmond Triangle Players' entertaining and moving season opener, THE VIEW UPSTAIRS.

???????Richmond Triangle Players joyfully announces it is extending the smash, sell-out run of the wackiest wedding musical ever onstage, It Shoulda Been You. This delightful farce, with a cast comprised of some of Richmond's finest musical-comedy performers, is adding four performances and will now close on July 8, 2017.  The production is sponsored by Hayes & Fisk Photography and Mosaic Catering.

Richmond Triangle Players concludes its 24th Season with the wackiest wedding musical ever onstage, It Shoulda Been You. This delightful farce, with a cast comprised of some of Richmond's finest musical-comedy performers, opens Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 8 pm, following a low-priced preview on Wednesday, May 31.  The production, sponsored by Hayes & Fisk Photography and Mosaic Catering, runs through July 1.

Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the opening of In the Heights on Friday June 23, 2017 at the November Theatre/Arenstein Stage, 114 West Broad Street. The show will run through July 30, 2017. Previews will run for two nights on Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22, 2017.

Richmond Triangle Players, in association with Missing Bolts Productions Inc. (Blair Baker & Zac Kline artistic directors) and NoPassport Theatre Alliance and Press (Caridad Svich, founder) will present a staged reading of AFTER ORLANDO, two evenings of short plays in response to the shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

La Jolla Playhouse opens its world premiere of UP HERE, a new musical comedy featuring book, music and lyrics by the husband-and-wife composing team of Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (In Transit), recipients of the 2014 Academy Award for Best Original Song for their hit song, 'Let It Go,' from the Disney animated film Frozen. UP HERE is directed by Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Broadway's Rocky, Off-Broadway's Here Lies Love, Playhouse's Peter and the Starcatcher) and runs now through September 6 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.
